Party Time

Good morning and happy weekend everyone! It's time for Wee Memories new challenge. During the summer our challenge runs in bi-weekly basis instead of weekly and boy we had lots of entries for the previous challenge. Just want to say we really appreciate your participation. :)

This week we are sponsored by "Eat Cake Graphics" who generously provided $25 gift certificate prize. If you're not familiar with their stamps, you really  need to check them out. They're super affordable and cute. Our challenge theme is party time -- birthday cards, invitations, gifts, etc. And with that, here's my card using this cute bouncing puppy. This is the way our sheltie, Nick bounce when he's excited (which by the way, Nick has been doing much better since we change his food.)

Since I have several stamps from Eat Cake Graphics I decided to do an extra card, just to show you  how cute their stamps are. This next one is featuring 2 adorable mice waiting for mail.

Fashion wise, I love the color purple, but I rarely use it for cards. I do love how it looks on this card, though. Another quick, simple card that makes me happy. My heart really belong to simple & clean design.

Anyway, not much going on in my world. My birthday is coming up in 10 days and so far,  no plan. I notice that since I moved to the States, I don't have  the same excitement for birthday the way I used to. I don't have problems with birthday. I am definitely not one of those people who's hiding how old I am (I'm going to be 36). It just that, it's not the same without my family. I miss  the feeling of celebrating birthday surrounded by my family. Miss it very much! Just the thought of it makes me homesick.

Yep... every time, never fails, on my birthday month, I get homesick more than usual. If only the flight isn't crazy expensive in June, I'd so jump in the plane to celebrate with them. It's been 17 years since I celebrate my  birthday with my family. Now, I get teary eye. I better stop. Sigh... sorry folks, didn't mean to get moppy.

Well, I better get off and cheer myself up! I think a nice, cold Baskin Robbins cappucino blast is in order for me today.

Vera, I think both of these cards are super cute. You actually introduced me to Eat Cake Graphics a while back through a card on your blog, and I LOVE their designs. I will definitely try to play along in this challenge.

I'm so sorry you're feeling sad about celebrating your birthday away from your family. Birthdays are always a really hard time of year for me too, but for different reasons (not at all age related) going back to my childhood. Anyway, I hope that this year will be better for you. Plan a day to go out and treat yourself to something you've been wanting. Give the gift of a happy memory to yourself.

Hi Vera! Love these CAS cards!!! Sorry to read how sad you feel not being with your family for your bday. Maybe focus on being with your new family of you and your hubby. And maybe you can plan to go to be there on your birthday for your 40th it's a milestone so price won't matter! :>
