Sending Smiles Across The Miles

Just a quick post to share a card I made for Mama Elephant photo inspiration challenge. I love the sharp, clean design of the inspiration pic and just have to play along. Besides it's about time I use my Mama Elephant sets more often.

I love white sofa. I always want one. However with 3 dogs I wonder if that's possible?? I just feel white sofa is like a canvas, you can make interesting by adding a splash of color or pattern here and there. One of this day, I'have a white sofa. ;) I stay with the CAS feeling for my card.

I added glossy accent on the balloons to make it shiny. And some sequins for added fun. I hope this card makes you smile. I am sending this card for my sweet niece, Shakira. I dream of kissing her cheeks, but for now some xoxo across the miles.

Holiday Pup

** For There She Goes Stamp blog hop please scroll down. **

In our family, the doggies are our kids. We have 2 pugs, Ollie, my grumpy ol' lady who is 15 going on 16 and Eli, my snuggle baby who is 1,5 year old  and 1 mutt, Abby, my hunter/toy destroyer who's also about same age as Eli.

Hubby and I always say that if we ever win millions, we would open a dog rescue center with wide open space for their playground. Yep, we love doggies. How could you not? Doggies are the only being that love their human more than they love themselves. And yes, doggy rescue is a cause that I hold dearly and close to my heart.

Speaking about doggies, I have to say I love Some Odd Girl's Kristy Dalman! She always come out with animal images that are super duper cute & adorable. Just look at this new Holiday Pup digi.

Doesn't this make you smile and feeling all warm & fuzzy? This pup is so dang cute, it makes me smile just looking at it.

Want to get it? Well, then please head on over to Some Odd Girl store and if you want  more inspiration from the other Oddies, please checkout Some Odd Girl blog. Only 4 more months to Christmas!

Bring Sunshine To The Lives Of Others

Good morning everyone! How was your weekend? I hope you all have a good one.

I had a pretty creative weekend. Made some cards, but also do some chillin' and went out to brunch with some girlfriends. Also, after talking to my cousin, I decided to give  massage therapy a try to help me with my jaw and hand pain. It's almost like acupressure. The lady is really good, she pointed out all my problem area and what I need to do to ease the pain.

I still have to go back a few more times, but just from the 1st visit, I could feel a difference, especially on my hand. So, we'll see and cross my fingers I can finally feel normal. Not fun living with pain, even though it's not super painful, it's there and you kind of just deal with it. And I do prefer to try natural fix when I can instead of taking medicine. So, really hoping this will works.

Anyway, let's move on to card. I have this fun card to share for my i {heart} paper post. Have I told you how much I love ikat print? Hah... like a gazillion times??

Isn't the color combo so cool? I love the way this card turned out. The ikat pattern is from Wplus9 Background & Borders 1. The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday. Currently i {heart} papers don't have this set in stock, but there are plenty of Technique Tuesday set that's available including the new releases. So, check out the store.

I just love this sentiment. It's one of the sentiment that I use as guidance or as reminder in my own life.

BTW, you see that strip of patterned paper? Guess how old is that paper?? Yep, it's an oldie alright. From my scrap paper stash, it's from 2003-2004. ** blush**.... yes, I keep paper that old. Some papers just harder to get rid off. Hah...

Thank you for stopping by here and hope your week starts off fabulously!! Counting down to long weekend! 4 more days to go.... :)

Now That's My Cup of Tea

Hmm... I think there's some changes with me lately. Usually I am not one that often do cards with flowers on it. But, with all the gorgeous flower stamps that been coming out, I find myself reaching for the flower sets more and more. :)

For today's card I was inspired by Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger Now That's My Cup of Tea

In my head the plate color would make the perfect background color, so I based my card from there. The white of the cup makes the flower pattern stands out and gives a clean look and since I know I want to do flower cluster, I want my sentiment to stand out, thus I do the sentiment in white.

The vine pattern on the patterned paper is pretty soft, so I can use it without making the card too busy. The flowers are from Papertrey Ink. I just got my order from PTI, so this weekend I play with PTI a lot. :)

That's it from me today. I have massage and brunch plan with my girlfriends, so I better get going. Thank you for swinging by here. Have a blessed Sunday, everyone!

And here's my card:

Thanks For Everything

This week There She Goes Stamp been highlighting some previously released stamp sets that's pet related. The sets that being highlighted are: Garden of Life which is perfect for cat lover, and In All The WorldRuh-Roh sets that are perfect for dog lovers.

Of course, with me being a dog lover I have to go with the doggy set. :) I played with In All The World set featuring this serene scene.

Isn't this such a sweet scene? It makes me think of the movie Hatchi about a dog that's loyally waited for his owner after his owner have passed away. I love that beautiful movie even though I cried so much through it.
For me, my dogs are my kids and I do want to thank my doggies for bringing me so much happiness. Seriously only a dog can love you more than it loves itself. They are my pride & joy.

Want to see more pet related projects? Please check out what the Trendsetter has created HERE. Thank you for stopping by here and hope you have an wonderful Friday.

Watercolor Birthday

Hi folks. Just a quick post to share my watercolor cards that were posted on Neat & Tangles challenge blog for their month long birthday celebration.

Sorry for the short post. But, I've been dealing with jaw pain that keep giving me headache and it makes it hard to concentrate and write long post.

Basically. to make this card I first heat embossed the big bubble and then created the pattern using watercolor paint and straw. Did the same technique on the second card, except, I cut it into a tag and then adhere it to colored cardstock panel.

These are super fun cards to make. I really enjoyed the whole process. Yep, stamping makes me happy. Plain & simple. :)

Chill

I am thankful that this summer has been pretty decent. It's hot, but not as crazy as last year. Yep, it's summer alright. But, we're only 4 months away from the holiday season. Yes, 4 months! Yikes... How time flies.

With that in mind, Some Odd Girl is releasing some new digi stamps to get you in the mood to start your holiday projects. One of the image is this super cute & sweet Polar Bear Cub.

Sigh... looking at him slurping that ice cream, makes me want some myself. ;)  It's been almost 100 degree Fahrenheit here almost every day this past month.

So, what do you think of this cutie cub? I don't know about you, but I love the way Kristie draw her critters. They always look so sweet & adorable. And me... love cuteness overload. Hah. Make sure you check out Some Odd Girl blog for more sample from my team mates. Hope you can find some chill time today. :)

May You Always Walk In Sunshine

I have to say the Irish have a way with sayings or shall I say blessings. There's just something about the wording that makes me feel warm & fuzzy. And when I get a chance to create card using the Irish blessing it makes me super happy.

I made this card inspired by Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger: I'm Craving Navy and Wplus9 Monday Mood Board #18.

I was staring at this chevron patterned paper while looking at the inspiration pics. And the vase of green on top of the drawers caught my eyes and it makes me think of mixing graphic pattern with floral set. I was thinking what if I mix this patterned with the flowers from Wplus9 Fresh Cut Florals while keeping to the navy theme? And the results is this:

Now & then I made card with results that totally makes me giddy. This is one of them. I think this floral set is my muse. Whenever I use this set, I always end up with something that I am totally happy with. Best flower set out there. (note: if you don't hav this set, run and get it. i {heart} papers have them in stock) And then, when I was looking for which sentiment to use, this Irish blessing from Technique Tuesday caught my attention and I was like this is it! Totally wasn't planning on it, but I am happy that I did. This card makes me smile.

Here's pic of the flower cluster close-up. I curled a couple of the pieces and adhere them with thick pop-dots, a couple with thin pop-dots and the rest directly to card with regular glue to create depth.

My mom loves flower, so this pretty card will go to my dear mom who is currently enjoying being a grandma. Well, that's it from me and I'll leave you with this Irish blessing:

May you always walk in sunshine.
May you never want for more.
May Irish angles rest their wings right beside your door.

Thank You Vases

There's something about the contemporary shape of the vases from Paper Smooches Crystal Clear set that I just love. Maybe because it reflects my taste as when it comes to decorating. I love the look of glass vases arrange together. I think it makes any home looks more homey. :)

I decided to do thank you card as my friend, who's also the sales rep for our company as she always needing thank you card to send to homeowner.

The sentiment is from Neat & Tangled Across The Card set. And the patterned paper is from Echo Park Bundle of Joy Girl - Dots & Stripes. By the way, the 6x6 paper pad sale is still going on at i {heart} papers. We need to make way for the new products that already start to roll in.

Short and quick today. Work is waiting. Thank you for stopping by here.

One trend that I do love at the moment is feathers. I love playing with feathers. It add such a fun element to your projects. Especially when the feathers has fun dots pattern on it. Cuteness, right?

Triangle Birdie

This weekend is a slow one for me. I finally get a chance to just chill out and catching up on some magazine and did a Glee marathon. And also play in my craft room, of course.

It took me a while to catch up with the triangle trend. Finally decided to give it a try. And what do you know.... I combined this trend with my love of bird.

To make this card, I first cut the bird and then cut all the little triangles and adhere them to the bird. LOL, I think about one third of the way, I started to re-evaluate my idea. Almost decided to chuck the whole thing. It feels like it took forever to cut and arrange those small triangles. But, I am glad that I kept going as I am pretty happy with the result.

I am making this card for Moxie Fab Trendy Triangle and Simon Says Stamp Triangle challenge using goodies I got from i {heart} papers. The patterned paper are from Echo Park Bundle of Joy Girl and Bundle of Joy Boy Dots & Stripes 6x6 pad. The sentiment is from Neat & Tangles Across The Card set.

So, what do you think of the triangle trend? Yay or nay? I am still on  the fence about it. Well, that's it for me for this weekend. Enjoy your weekend, peep.

Holiday Cards & More, Vol. 8 Blog Hop!

Happy Friday and welcome to Paper Crafts Holiday Cards & More blog hop. We are celebrating this super fun & festive issue filled with many awesome ideas for the holidays. You should arrive here from Kelly Griglione blog.

For this hop, we're asked to create a festive treat wrap and share a favorite holiday recipe. One of my project that get published in this issue is a cookie tote that looked like a gingerbread house. So, continuing with the house theme, I decided to create two house cookie box. I am also entering this for Moxie Fab Holiday Food & Treat Wrap challenge.

Both house were made using Silhouette. I love that machine. I really do. :) Now, for the first house I decorate the top with sparkly May Arts ribbon to add a festive feeling. Colored the window with copic to add warmth to the house. The cute Mrs. Clause is actually one of the gnome from There She Goes My Little Friend set.

The next box is decorated with Santa from PTI Tiny Treats Christmas set and reindeer from PTI Holiday Tags Stamp set. I lined the window with wax paper.

Now, the recipe. I definitely not a cook. In our household my husband is the cook. Thank goodness, other wise I'll be living of cereal and ramen noodle. Ha... But, I do like making dessert. Unfortunately, since there's only the two of us and 3 dogs, I can't make dessert too often. It can be dangerous, if you know what I mean.
My favorite dessert is cheesecake and tiramisu. I've been known to eat them for dinner on rare occasion. For today I decided to share my favorite tiramisu recipe.
If I am not wrong I got this from Kraft website long time ago. One of the reason I like this recipe, no baking required.

TIRAMISU
1 pkg. (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
3 cups cold milk
2 pkg. (3.4 oz. each) JELL-O Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding
1 tub (8 oz.) COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, thawed, divided
48 NILLA Wafers
½ cup brewed strong MAXWELL HOUSE Coffee, cooled
2 oz. BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate, coarsely grated
1 cup fresh raspberries

Instructions:
1. Beat cream cheese in large bowl with mixer until creamy. Beat in milk and dry pudding mixes. Stir in 2 cups COOL WHIP.
2. Line 2-1/2-qt. bowl with 24 wafers; drizzle with 1/4 cup coffee. Top with half each of the pudding mixture and chocolate. Repeat all layers.
3. Top with remaining COOL WHIP and raspberries. Refrigerate 2 hours.

Easy peasy. It's great for party since this recipe is for 14-16 servings.

Last but not least, the giveaway part. PC is giving each of us an extra issue to give away. Simply leave a comment here by midnight CST, Tuesday, August 13 and I'll announce the winner on Wednesday. From here please hop to Maurine Anderson. In case you missed a link, below is the complete list of the hop participants. Thank you so much for stopping by here.

You Are Amazing

Hi peeps. How's summer at your neck of the wood? It is hot, hot, hot here in Houston. I feel so bad for hubby who has to be outside most of the time. He is overseeing all of the houses that are on the ground, which means he has to face the heat most of the day. Luckily, he does love his job. He loves seeing the houses being built from scratch. Not loving the heat, though.

With the dog days of summer upon us, we rarely do anything that require us to be outside. Especially hubby, since he's out on the field most of the time, by the time we get home, he does not want to go out unless he really has to. Yep, summer in Texas can be brutal.

Anyway, enough of me whining about the heat. I live in Texas the past 18 years, I should get used to it, right? Well, let's get on to card.

I made this card for my i {heart} papers post.

I am loving the vases from Paper Smooches Crystal Clear set. The tall vase is my favorite. In fact I have a couple tall vase like that in our house. The sentiment is from Avery Elle Framed Font set. i {heart} papers don't have this set in stock, but they do carry most of Avery Elle stamp.

By the way, with new products coming in, i {heart} papers have all the 6x6 paper pads (excluding the new products) on sale for only $4 each for a limited time. So, if you want to stock up on your 6x6, now is a great time. And you better hurry before the sale ends.

That's it from me today. And tomorrow, please join me and some fabulously talented ladies for Paper Crafts Holiday Cards & More Blog Hop. See you tomorrow.

Birthday Owl

Hi peeps. After two days of showcasing holiday sets from Some Odd Girl clear releases, today I'm sharing a super cute & fun birthday owl! Meet Owl-Days.

When it comes to critters, I do think Some Odd Girl has some of the cutest & sweet critter sets out there. When I saw this owl, I was like awww.... cuteness. And I thought that topsy turvy birthday cake would make the perfect background for it. Gotta love my Silhouette.

I am also entering this card for MarkerPop challenge #28 anything goes.

So, what do you think of the owl? Adorable, right? Hope you like it as much as I do. Thank you for swinging by here. Cheers....

Partridge & HoliDeer

Today the release party from Some Odd Girl continue with the team showcasing HoliDeer and Partridge sets.

I actually made these cards before CHA as Kristy asked me if I could help out and make some simple card with step-by-step tutorial to be distribute to store owners as idea sheet. Of course I jumped at the chance. And the results are the two card here and the two from yesterday's post.

My favorite part of this deer card, besides the deer? The silk ribbon! They are from May Arts and I love using the silk ribbon to make double loop bows.

From green, we go to salmon red. Well, that's what I call it. It's not really red, not really pink, kind of in the middle. Again, with the holiday season, I figure people think of making quick card and even though Some Odd Girl images are gorgeous when they are colored, they are just as gorgeous without much coloring. Just like the Partridge on my card where I only colored the pear. I added some sequins for interest, so the card doesn't look blah. :)

So, what do you think of the 4 mini holiday sets? (You can see the other 2 sets on my post from the day before yesterday). Check out what my team mates has created for this new releases at Some Odd Girl blog.

SOG Chris Mouse & Snow Bunny

Hi everyone and welcome to Some Odd Girl August clear release party. As we're only about 4 months away from Christmas, Some Odd Girl is releasing some cute and awesome clear stamps to help you get your holiday cards ready.

Today we're showcasing 2 super cute mini sets. First up is the cute Chris Mouse.  Just look at his adorable smile. How could you resist this sweet face?

For the fussy part of the Santa hat I used "White Liquid Applique" to create the foamy bubble look. I love using liquid applique. They're so fun to use and add just the right amount of texture to my cards.

Next up is this energetic Snow Bunny. Love the buck teeth! Ha...

With the images being so cute, I feel like the card doesn't need much embellishment. I prefer to keep the card design simple so the cute images really stands out and take the center stage.

So, what do you think of the mouse and the bunny? Do you love cutesy stuff? I sure hope you do. LOL, cute stuff makes me smile. Need more cuteness to brighten your day? Check out Some Odd Girl blog to see what the other Oddies has created. Thank you so much for swinging by here and hope your week starts off wonderfully.

SOG August Sketch Challenge

As we enter the month of August, Some Odd Girl have new sketch challenge for you all. :) You can check out the sketch, challenge & prize detail HERE.

And this is my card using the cute fairy from Fairy Magic set.

I rarely take my glitter out, just because I don't like to mess with all the glitter dust. But, I think this fairy needed the glittery wings, so the glitter came out. LOL, I have glitter all over my hand and Eli is my snuggle pup, so he always want to get pet or sit on my lap. Well, when I am playing with glitter snuggling with me comes with a risk. Poor Eli was sparkly for the rest of the evening.

You have one month to play along and I sure hope you will join us. :)

Ikat & Cupcake

Happy August and yay for my favorite day of the week! Today I am sharing a card  for i {heart} papers that featuring my two favorite things. Ikat pattern and cupcake. Well, actually, as much as I am a dessert person, I never really big into cupcake. I guess, I just haven't found one where I am like amazed by it. The ones I found so far, tend to be too sweet and sugary.

Anyway, let's talk card instead of cupcake. It makes me craving snack talking about sweets. I made my card inspired by this pic from Wplus9 Monday mood board #17.

I decided to use cupcake instead of doing monogram because this card is going to my SIL who owned a bakery in Jakarta. Whenever she delivers an order, she always attach a card made by me, so it needs to have cupcake, cakes, or dessert pic in general. And, since I plan to go home at the end of the year, I need to start build up my stock for my SIL.

I am a bit obsessed with the ikat pattern. Just a wee bit.... Hah!! This time I am using Wplus9 Backgrounds & Borders 1 and Sweets & Treats set. Currently i {heart} papers don't have this set, but they do have the Sweets & Treats Filler set in stock. They yummy color ink is the Soft Cantaloupe from Hero Arts Just Beachy set.

Hope your Thursday goes smoothly and thank you for swinging by here. Cheers & have some sweet! ;)
