Hello Beautiful

My goal this year is to give more love to the stamps that I already owned. With design team assignments and all, I find myself often neglected the stamps that I have & love because I often run out of time. 

Well, I am trying to fix that. I mean, after all I bought these stamps because I love them, so I shouldn't let it just sit on the drawers, right? :)

Case & point, this Wplus9 Hibiscus Bouquet. I love, love this set, bought it last year and keep thinking I am going to play with it right away. Wrong... It got neglected instead. So, I am correcting this error. Hah...

I stamped and colored it with Copic and then masked the bouquet and color the background with distress oxide. Once that done, I die cut the word Beautiful (from My Favorite Thing), add the hello and some enamel dots.

I love the way this card turned out and happy that I finally use this beautiful set. My goal is at least each month I'll use at  least a couple sets that I haven't use just because. Not because DT assignment or challenge, simply just to create. :)

Hi peeps! It's time for a new SSS Wednesday Challenge. This week it's all about patterned paper. Yep, simply create a project using patterned paper and that's it. Easy peasy requirement, right?

For my card, I created a thank you card using patterned paper from Doodlebug Swiss Dot Rainbow Petite Print. 

I've been into stamping on patterned paper lately. It's a great and quick way to added interest to a card design. 

I started by stamping the beautiful MFT Rose All Over Background directly on the patterned paper and heat embossed it with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. Once that done, using SSS Big Thanks dies, I die cut the word directly on the stamped panel and then run it again three more times on a piece of dark cardstock. This way I can layered and pop the word "Thanks" more, so it's not completely blend it with the background. Followed by sentiment from MFT Geometric Greenery set and of course, I have to dot some finishing touches using Tonic Pale Periwinkle Nuvo Jewel Drop (love this stuff!!).

Amazing, That's What You Are

Hi peeps! I'm back with another fun Simon Says Stamp challenge. This week it's all about embossing. Fun & easy. :)

For my card, I used the lovely Simon Says Stamp Rebecca Lace background stamp (from SSS Cherished collection), MFT Doubly Amazing Dies and MFT Amazing set . I love, love, love this Rebecca Lace stamp. It is simply a beautiful background stamp!!

To make my card, I start with stamping and heat embossed the image on a piece of cardstock panel. Then using ink daubers, I start coloring the circles from the center of the medallion. I used various brand ink pad here. From the center out: Hero Arts Soft Cantaloupe , MFT Peach Bellini, Memento Dandelion, Memento Pear Tart, Altenew Sea Glass, and Memento Danube Blue.

I really feel with this card, the last 2 blue is really what make it pop. Then again that could be because I love blue. But, I love green, too. Heck, I simply love colors!! Hah!

Once I am done coloring the panel, I ran MFT Amazing dies through the panel and pop it up by layering it three times. Otherwise, the word would blend in too much with the card. Adhere the whole thing to the card base and then I stamped the word "That's What You Are", trim it and adhere it pop dots. Tadaaa............

I seriously love the colors on this card. Staring at fun colors makes me happy. What do you think of the colors? I think this is my favorite! Well peeps, I hope you enjoy today's card and will play along with us at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. :)

You're Awesome

Hi peeps. A quick post here as I just want to share this card that I made for My Favorite Things sketch challenge # 316. Hah... as usual, I made it last minute. At least this time, I didn't missed the deadline. Well, barely. ;)

I think sending an encouragement or acknowledgement card is a good thing to do. Too often we take the awesome people in our life for granted.  Why not let them know?

Particularly Amazing

So, this past Sunday, to celebrate World Kindness Day, Jennifer McGuire and I host Caring Hearts Card Drive Blog Hop and all I can say is thank you!! I am humble and grateful for all your support. My email been flooded with question and people expressing interest to contribute.

As of today, I have roughly about 4000 cards on my end alone. I am estimating between all the collection place, we probably have about 7000 cards?? Last year we received over 22,000 cards, so I am hoping this year we'll receive just as much.

Also, if you know any nursing home that would love to receive these cards, please email me at: wirianta@hotmail.com. I will need to know the nursing home name and number of residents. We continuously adding home to our list. Or maybe you know an elderly that live by themselves, have no family? Let's spread kindness to as many places, to as many people, as possible.

Appreciate You So Much

I am a fan of interactive cards. So, when I saw that Online Card Classes offering Wild Card class, I just have to sign up.

My card today is implementing the lesson from day 2 on making slider card. Here's what the card looks like when you slide out the insert.

Here's how it looks with the slider in. Pretty clean & simple.

Then you pull out the slider & tadaaa.... it becomes a much happier card. ;)

Birthday Squad

Hi peeps. How's it going? Well, last year, I observed as the MFT Card Design Superstar Contest unfold. Since, I was part of the MFT challenge team at that time, I did't get to play along even though I was kind of itchy to try. Hah. I always love a good challenge. Well, this year, I decided to give it a try. Squeezing in last minute as it seems my mojo works better under pressure.

When it comes to contest, my principal always make card that showcase my true style. If you  have followed my blog for awhile, you know I love cute critters & I love CAS style. I am sticking to this style and here's my card. Lots of cutie patooties while maintaining a clean look.

I used quite a few MFT sets here & coloring them all with Copic markers. For the grass I used Die-namics Mini Fringe combine with Grassy Edges. Then for the birthday squad, I used Birthday Bears, Flamingo dies, Ewe Are The Best, Hog Heaven, Penguins In Paradise (the coconut drink) & Adorable Elephant.

Now, this card is also interactive. The heart balloon that the elephant is holding can go up & down. Here's a closer look with the balloon being pull up. Both balloons shimmered prettily in person.

Create With Marcie Sharp

Hi peeps! How's thing going? You know, one of the thing that I love about card making is the wonderful people I get to meet because of it. Whether it's someone that I have met in person and online. Well, one of those girl is Marcie Sharp.

So, last week she asked me if I want to play along with her blog weekly series called Crate Together, where another cardmaker and her challenge each other to create a card from a theme or limited supplies or inspiration photo, etc. Well, since I always love creating with others, of course I say yes.

We decided to CASE each other. Since, I am a fan of happy card, I chose to CASE her unicorn card from this POST. This is her card:

Such a happy card, right? I  love the layer of clouds and the cute unicorn. So, here's my card:

I create my own happy card by using Taylored Expression Rolling Clouds dies along with this cuties from My Favorite Things Hog Heaven set. On this set, only one of the piggy have wing, so I just draw one for the one on the left side. If you click on the picture you can see the bigger picture and hopefully you could see the pretty glitters on the wings.

Oh... and that piggy in a barrel is from my own critters collection. I have a whole set of cute piggies figurines. I seriously could not resist their cuteness. I love collecting cute stuff. And, this one is perfect to complement the card, right?

In Hog Heaven

I have this uber cute MFT Hog Heaven in my hand for a while and I am so happy that I finally get to play with it. It was love at first sight for me when I saw this set. Yep, can't resist these cute piggies. Cutest piggies set out there!

It's also been a while since I get to play with MFT sketch challenge. The current MFT Sketch 288 is a perfect reason to use the set. Like anyone need an excuse to play with such cute set, silly right?

This card totally makes me happy with its cuteness. Here's a closer look of the piggy, so you could see its sparkling, glittery wings. 

I haven't make cards as much as I used to, but I still love it. I am just balancing it with doing other stuff that I enjoy. :)

MFT Sketch 270

Ah Monday... Isn't the weekend just flew by way too fast? We had a pretty fun weekend. My Goddaughter came by for a visit and to have a belated birthday celebration for her. Her mom and I took her for dim sum & shopping at her favorite store, this Japanese knick knack store, that's simply so cool & fun to browse. I was excited because I found the perfect container to store my sequins! Seriously at this store you can find useful as well as stuff that makes you think what the heck??! LOL. Anyway, we had fun.  

And, besides cleaning house & doing piles of laundry, of course, I spent some time in my craft room and finished this flower card that I made inspired by the latest MFT Sketch Challenge 270. Here's the sketch:

And, here's my card.

For this card, I used the Blissful Blooms & Fall Florals to create the flower arrangement. And finish it with  the sentiment from Delicate Pretty Poppies. And, that scallop frame dies... simply perfect to frame a flower bouquet.  I love the scallop frames.

Hello Shaker Card

When I saw My Favorite Things sketch challenge 267, I knew right away that I want to play along. I have to admit, I miss making card for MFT weekly challenge. So, I am happy that I can join this week.

In place of the tag, I used the Boutique Window and embellish it with flowers from Mini Modern Bloom set  to create this fun shaker card. The sentiment is from Label Maker Sentiment set.

I always find it satisfying when an idea I have in my head translate into card just the way I imagined it.

Well, short post for today. I have to get ready since this afternoon I am teaching a Valentine card making class tonight for a special needs group. Am excited & nervous at the same time. I used to teach scrapbooking & card making class on weekly basis, but that was long time ago. And, this is the 1st time I'll be working with a special needs group. I think it'll be fun. Wish me luck!

It's Been A Great Ride 2015

Slightly over a year ago, I got this email from Susan Opel asking if I'd like to join her on her new adventure. She's joining My Favorite Things and was  building a challenge team. I was like, seriously, you chose me? Needless to say, I immediately say yes, before she get to change her mind. Hah!!

Fast forward to now, as we close 2015, changes need to be made and MFT decided to dissolve the challenge team. So, this would be my last post as part of MFT Challenge Team. Waaa..... Water work starts. Yes, that's how I feel. Not gonna lie, I am sad that this ride is over.

Joining MFT was truly one of the best decision I ever made creativity wise. Being part of MFT Challenge team been such a pleasure. I truly enjoy working for MFT. They really are the kind of company that I love to support. The people, the company, the way they do their business (they're very generous and always giving back to the community), the products, simply awesome. 

Most of all, what make this experience amazing, are the girls that I get to work with. The whole MFT team as a whole are amazing, kind people. I adore Kim, the owner of MFT (she's big time animal lover, so in my book that make her super awesome), Jody, Laina (she has a pug, too!, so of course, I feel like kindred spirit, in case you didn't know that I love pugs), Julie, the people behind the scene that make everything goes smoothly, are so easy to work with and they spoiled us silly.

But, for this post, I really want to give a shout out to my team mates in the challenge team. They're kind, fun, silly and we just connect. Each of this girl, Veronica, Jill, Alice, Miriam, Erin became real friends to me. We shared more than just crafty stuff, we shared our personal struggle, we became each other sound boards, we cheered on one another. We all agree that the friendship we gained from being on this team is simply priceless.

Okay, I don't want to get all sappy now. I will simply just say it with this card. 

Just like these birds, each of the girl is unique and they color my world and like they say, birds of feather flocks together. :) Veronica, Erin, Jill, Alice, Miriam, I am so glad to get to know all of you better and now have the pleasure of calling you friend. And, to our fearless leader, miss Susan Opel, thank you for believing in us, for trusting us with this adventure. It's been one heck of a fun ride.

Thank goodness for Facebook, Instagram that we all can still keep in touch with each other. 2015 been a great year and I am looking forward to what 2016 will bring. Here's to a new year, new adventure, new opportunity. Please check out MFT Challenge Blog as well for a farewell post.

Hello

Hi peeps! Welcome to the last MFT challenge sketch for 2015. It's been a year full of inspirations and I hope you've enjoyed our challenges. Here's the sketch to close 2015.

And, here'e my sweet interpretation of the sketch. I was going to do Hello 2016, but then again, I never really send out happy New Year card, so I decided to just stick to "Hello". Hah.... Did Adele's song immediately come to your mind? ;)

I think from all the MFT releases this year, the Adorable Elephant set is my favorite! I just couldn't resist their cuteness.

Now, I love making cute card, that's for sure. But, then again, I also love making pretty card. I made this next card just for fun.

As far as background stamp, this rose one is definitely my favorite. They're simply pretty and I love the fine lines of the roses. And, since we're speaking about favorite, the new ink color, Poppy, which I used on this card, is the best red out there in my opinion. I love how vibrant the Poppy red is.
