Digital Doodles Day

Hm... I sure get my Christmas card making an early start this year. New record for me. Hah... I usually don't start on them till it's December. But, I am planning on putting lots of my cards for Caring Hearts Card Drive. One of the nursing homes has 150 residents and I am not sure how many card we will receive through the card drives, yet, so I better get busy, right?

And, yesterday did feel almost like Christmas for me with all the goodies that I received in the mail. :) I never thought I'd need that many Christmas stamps, but for this year alone, I think I have ordered at least 6 different stamps (a couple of them are sets) and still probably end up with more. Sigh... too many cute stamps.

To continue with the Christmas theme, today, I have a second round of Digital Doodles 'Night Before Christmas'. For this card, I used Hero Arts Friends definition digi stamp to paper pieced the stocking. Love the way this color combo turned out. So sweet looking.

For a bit of fun, I added wiggly eye on the mose. Love it's curly tail. For the scallop on the stocking, I used Martha Stewart double scallop on vellum paper. Yep... I've been playing with vellum a lot lately.

Check out all the Digital Doodles DT amazingly creative creations here. These girls are so talented and I am so honored to be working with them. Enjoy your day!!

Holiday Greeting Cards

I came home from work to piles of happy mail. I received the goodie box from Susan's World Card Making Day giveaway (which also include prizes for Caring Hearts Card Drive) and my order from Lawn Fawn. I was like a kid at candy store. Squealing like crazy.

As soon as I saw the Lawn Fawn stamps , I know I have to play right away. Can't... resist... cute.. stuff!

I  made 3 quick cards that are simple and easy to do. And, story of my life, I have to make a last minute post, so I can enter these cards for Moxie Fab Jolly Holiday Greetings Challenge. Dateline for the challenge... hmm... tonight.

So, here you go.

Those Papertrey Ink text impression plate that I used to embossed the background is definitely one of my favorite tool at the moment. You truly can use it for any occasion. I was going to mix this "Bows & Holly" set with "Critters in the Burb" set. Except, I can't find them. I spent a good half hour just looking for them. Oh well. And... here's another Christmas card.

This one I actually made it last week, using Papertrey Ink stuff, just totally forgot to post it. Entering this for Moxie Fab Jolly Holiday Greeting challenge & FTL 111.

Okie dokie, that's it for tonight's post. Hopeyou like the cards and thank you for swinging by here. have a great evening. Nighty night...

Wedding Card

Happy Monday, peeps! Hope your week starts well. I am excited that today, Kelly from Paper Crafts is helping spreading the words about Caring Hearts Card Drive on their blog Paper Crafts Connection. Thank you, Kelly & Susan for your amazing support!! Paper Crafts is donating 6 SPECIAL ISSUES for prizes!!

This past weekend been a busy one for me. My niece stayed with us for a couple night while her mom & dad had a little getaway for the weekend. Hubby was so great with her. LOL, how could she not love him, when he play water squirt with her. They chased each other all around the house with squirt bottle. By the time their done, they were both so wet and I had to take the bottles away from both of them. LOL, I get to play the bad cop.

Sunday, I finally had some time to make cards. Here's the card that I made for Jenny's wedding. She'll be on her honeymoon, so I figure it's okay to share the card here as most likely she won't see it and it'll be waiting for her when she come back. :)

Challenges:
Sweet Stampin - bling
No Time To Stamp - back to nature
AiFactory - embossing

For me, wedding card is one of the hardest card to make. I finally settled on using vellum to create the soft look. Stamped & embossed the vellum and add colors around the edges by rubbing chalks on the back side of the vellum. Then punch a bunch of butterflies using blue vellum.

Oh, I almost forgot, my card here was chosen as the lucky random winner for Some Odd Girl monochromatic challenge. Yay!

Tomorrow, I'll have a Christmas card to share with you. Now, I am off to browse the amazing sneak peek from Papertrey Ink release. Have a great week everyone!

Moxie Fab Funky Fall

A quick post, so I can enter this card for Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger: A Funky Fall. Typical me, last minute entry.  Actually, I was planning this for Monday's post, till I read that the card has to be posted to the blog on Sunday. Almost missed it. The challenge is to make a card inspired by this picture.

When I saw this picture, I really love the splash of pink. Usually fall painting always so orangey, brown, and this one seems more fun & prettier because of the pink. So, inspired by the colors, here's what I came up with.

So, there you go. My quick post for tonight. have a great evening, peeps!

Paper Play Sketch Challenge

Hi peeps! I'm so glad it's Thursday. A day away from the weekend. :) Hubby and I will get to babysit our niece, Maddy, who will stay for a couple nights with us. And we'll get to take her to her school dance. Her mom was saying that she cannot wear any make up. Hmm... I sure hope that smart girl wouldn't try to sneak it on us. LOL, thank goodness we only have to deal with tween issue once in a while.

Anyhoo, I have this "grumpy" card for you. Hah.. when I saw the "Stitchy Bear Stamp" images that we get to work with for this week Paper Play Challenges, I picked this grumpy fella. LOL, it so remind me of me back in teenage year. Weekend we get to sleep in, but not too late & my mom would wake me up and I'd drag myself to the living room carrying my bunny stuff animal. And yeah... I probably have that expression, too.

At Paper Play each of the DT get to set a challenge and this week I pitch in with sketchtastic challenge.

Not, my typical image to use, but I thought he's kind of cute. What you think? I hope you will get to join us for this fun challenge! Check out all the eye candies by the talented DT gals here. Have a great Thursday, peeps!

Hero Arts Pairing Up Challenge Week 2

Hi all... So sorry, I am late in posting for this week pairing up challenge. I thought we're posting in Thursday and found out we're posting on Wednesday. Miscommunication.

For this week challenge, I picked one of Robin's card that inspire me. And, I pick this card:

I love how Robin built the scene on this card. It looks serene & beautiful. I love how the sun glow on the background. So, based on this card, here's what I came up with. And, I am so excited at the way this card look.

For me, this whole scene looks so relaxing. I think it's one of my favorite card that I made for this year. Joy and Robin both really amazed me with their creativity. Check out Joy's card here and Robin's card here. Thank you all so much for stopping by. Have a beautiful evening.

A couple cards

Hi peeps. How are you all doing? I have a couple cards to share with you today. The first card is just a random card I made. Quick & simple card.

Second card is the one I made for MyGrafico assignment. Honestly, I have to say that this is one of my hardest challenge. Why? Cause I have to create a card using clown images!

I mean, I am okay to see clown in the circus, other than that, hmmm... not really. LOL, blame it on creepy movie. And, I can tell you, I am not the only one who felt that way! Well, for this week we get to use the clown set from Dilek Design Studio & Circus Love Paper by Cupcake Cutiees.

There's the card. What do you think of clown? Seriously, I think most of the girls in the DT really struggling working with clown images. You can check out the DT projects & the challenge detail at MyGrafico challenge blog.

Tomorrow, I will have a pretty card for you, for the 2nd week of Hero Arts Pairing Up Challenge. All I can say, I want to frame this card. Stop by tomorrow to check it out. Have a blessed day! Hugs, Vera.

Happy Birthday, Hubby!

Today is my my dear hubby special day. He's truly one of the most thoughtful, loving guy, and I just want to let him know how thankful I am to have him as my partner in life!  Happy birthday, honey & please figure out where you want to go for dinner! LOL, every year he makes it so difficult to celebrate his birthday. He always like to keep it low key & I always want to make it special. He's like, why don't we just go out on t he weekend? I am like duh.... your birthday is today! :)

Other happy news.... Yesterday, I got tagged on facebook here, for winning a goodie box from Susan Opel from Paper & Crafts magazine. Yay!! Then this morning, lovely Deirdre left a comment & telling me I won another giveaway from the fabulous Cath at Moxie Fab! I rush to check out the announcement here & sure enough there's my  name. What a great blessing.

And the blessing will be shared. I am not keeping everything, I'll be adding some of the stuff to the prizes for Caring Hearts Card Drive. Yay... more stuff for you to win. :) I also have another donor adding prizes, this time it's Hero Arts! Double yay! Will be adding their prizes as soon as I receive their prize pic.

Anyway, have you start making your Christmas cards, yet? I am slowly working on them. The latest release from Digital Doodles "Night Before Christmas" sure helps me get in the mood to work on Christmas cards.

Edited to add "link" to the set.

Challenges:
Incy Wincy Designs - sparkly glitter (glitter, stickles, rhinestones, etc)
Gingerloft - glitter or bling
Sew Many Cards - DIGI STAMP and anything goes
Charisma Cardz - christmas crafting

Did you see the two li'l mouse? I think they're such a cutie! Here's an up-close view of them. I want to show how their tails are not glue & actually curled out for extra fun dimension.

The fireplace is courtesy of Silhouette. I just drew some lines to create the brick look & use my Prismacolor pencil to create the shadow lines. Loads of stickles on the fire. Love how glittery & shiny it looks. I did the same thing on the lights.

What do you think? Also, check out Kathy's Digital Doodles blog to see all the fabulous projects the DT gals created. From the sneak peek I've been seeing, there are lots of eye candy! Thank you for all your sweet thoughtful comments that you left yesterday about Coco. I say it again and again, the card making industry is filled with many amazing, thoughtful people and I am so glad to be part of this community.

Have a blessed week everyone & thank you all for stopping by here. Cheers...
