Stamps Temptation

Is it just me or it seems like more and more company come out with many amazing stamps. Seems like each month there are so many tempting new releases. I've been fighting the temptation. Although, I didn't do so well with the digi ones. LOL, with digi image my arguement would be, oh it's only a few bucks, except I always ended up with  more than just 1 image. On purpose, I didn't check how many digis I got this past month. Nope, don't want to know.

And, last night after a couple months of fighting the temptations, I gave in and purchased bunch of new goodies from Papertrey Ink. My excuse is I need to start working on Christmas cards, that's why I needed those stamps now instead of waiting till next month. Hah. How about  you all, any big spending this month? If yes, which ones are you getting? Come one let's enabling each other, so I don't feel bad with my spending. :)

Okay, let's move on, shall we. This week, it's my week off from Paper Play, but they do have fun challenges this week that you can check out here.  And at Digi Doodle Shop's Best  it's "ANYTHING GOES". Not only that, Judy generously offer a few freebies for you to use. Check out the challenge blog for challenge & prize detail. Here's my card using one of the freebie.

I love the colors of fall. Too bad in Texas, well at least my area, we don't get to experience the full effect of leaves changing colors. Seems like here it just change from green to brown. Blahh... nothing exciting or pretty. LOL, I told hubby one of this say we need to make a trip to Boston or Maine or any area that truly have beautiful fall season.

I hope you can join us for this fun challenges. Thanks for stopping by. Hugs, Vera.

Paper Play & DDSB

Thank you all so much for the get well wishes you sent my way after my post yesterday. I definitely feel much better. Still have a bit of cramping, but at least no pain. As long as there's no pain, I am good. Last night I even managed to created a couple cute cards. But, since, I already have 2 cards for today, I'll save the cards I made last night for tomorrow's post. :)

Fist up is my card for Paper Play Autumn is comin' challenge sponsored by Simon Say Stamp. For all the details & prize information, check it out here. All the stamps that I used here are from Hero Arts, except for the sentiment, which is from Verve Stamps. When it comes to sentiment, Verve stamps does have some of the best sentiments & style in my opinion. I love this saying. I always admired Mother Teresa and pretty much as soon as I saw this, I know I have to have it right away. It's such a powerful words.

I actually submitted this card for the recent Stamp It! submission call, but it didn't get pick. Oh well, I just have to keep on trying. :)

Second is my card for Digi Doodle Shop's Best "Charm" challenge. Isn't this spider just too cute? I love that his eyes all goofy looking. I cut & layered the spider twice for extra dimension. Forgot  to take picture from the side to show the layers & I already gave this card to my SIL. I don't have charms handy in my stash, so I created my  own charms using my always reliable Silhouette. I hanged all 3 charms on black thread.

I really love how fun this card looks.  Likey the spider? You can get it here. And for details on the challenge please go here.

Also just a reminder, you have till Friday midnight to enter Wee Memories "Wee Ones" challenge.

So happy it's already Thursday and only 9 more days till I see my brother!! So, so excited & looking forward to spending some time with him. That's it for today, peep! Have a blessed day! Hugs, Vera.

Counting The Days

Happy Thursday, peep! 16 more days before I get to see my brother again!! Yes, I am counting the day till I get to see him again. 2 years is along time of not seeing each other. I can't wait to see him. 4 days is not long enough, but I'll take whatever chance I have. Hoping we'll have some time to take cool pictures. He's such an excellent photographer. Well, his trip to the States is to do wedding pictures in San Fransisco. How cool is  that? Sometime I wish I have his job, where you get paid to travel & enjoying the view. You can see sample of his underwater pictures here, for fashion/people pictures you can check it out here. I am so proud of him and  you can bet I am his biggest cheerleader!

Okay, usually Thursday I have 2 cards for you, one for Paper Play and one for Digi Doodle's Shop Best. Well, at Paper Play now we're divided ito 2 groups, so instead of having to post weekly, I only have to do it bi-weekly. And this week, I am free of Paper Play duty.:) But, they do still have their weekly challenge and this week theme is "IN STITCHES". Create a project using stitches. It can be real stitches or faux stitches.

For Digi Doodle's Shops' Best this week challenge is "SENTIMENT". Basically make sure you use sentiment on your card. Without saying, it's almost like anything goes, since most of the time we all use sentiments, right? For my card I used Sketch & Stash challenge 43 sketch.

Here's up-close of the flowers, so you can see all the glitters on them. I traces the flowers with Sakura Glitter pens. I really love this pen. Click on the picture to see it in bigger scale.

Hope you will join us in the challenge. Looking forward to seeing  your creations!! Hugs, Vera.

Paper Play & DDSB

Happy Thursday, peeps! today, I have 2 new challenges for you. First is a sketch challenge from Paper Play sponsored by Wink Wink Ink. You can check out all the detail & enter the challenge here.

I was excited when they said the DT can pick the image to work with. And guess what I chose... Well, all I can say my heart  belong to the pugs!! As soon as I saw this "Puggles", I know my choice. Heh... as a proud pug owner, how can I resist this??

I think this is the first cute pug digi stamp I ever found. For extra details, I added flocks on the tail & the paws. It's soft & fuzzy. Just like the real thing. Here's pic of my spoil brat baby, Ollie. LOL, I truly think she knows what's the camera for. I have tons of pictures of Ollie. I love this pic, where she  had her paws all tucked in inside hubby's shoes. She's my baby & I love her so much!

Next, is my card for Digi Doodle Shop's Best. This week challenge is distressed or vintage. I distressed the edges of the squares and the purple cardstock. And the image... loved it!! As soon as I saw it, I know I want it. They're just so adorable!

Here up-close view of the mice. I popped-up 3 of the mice for extra dimension. See the one napping on the bottom corner, sigh... so cute!! I also highlighted the inside of the pumpkin with glitters to make it looks like it shine with candle light.

There you go, two fun challenges!! I hope you can join us for the fun and I am looking forward to checking out your creations! Have a great day. Almost Friday.... yay!!

Paper Play Week 32 & DDSB Challenge

First of all, I want to thank you to all of you for your lovely comments through the blog, twitter, email, and facebook regarding my post from yesterday as Making Memories guest designer. I truly appreciate your supports. I am so humble and grateful to have many of you cheering for me. So blessed. :)

Today, I have two new challenges for you today. First up is my card for Paper Play Challenge. This week theme is "Bon Voyage".  For my card, I totally go in the fun & cute direction. As you know, Lawn Fawn is one of my favorite. Especially after I met Kelly, I love her products even more. I love supporting genuinely nice people. :)

I made the card using 2S4Y sketch & CPS 179 (they're almost the same). The idea of the punched cloud is inspired by Belinda Chang's card here (thanks for the inspiration, Belinda). Created the car using Papertrey Ink stamp & matching car die. The idea of the bunnies driving the car is from the Kia car advertisement (I think it's Kia, if I am wrong, sorry) where the hamsters looking so cool and tapping their fingers to the music while riding around town. Love fun commercial.

Unfortunately, I am missing the bunny from my Lawn Fawn set. So, I had to draw the bunnies myself to match the Fawn Lawn critters. I love the cheerfulness this card conveys.

Next, is my card for Digi Doodle Shop's Best Challenge. This week we're sponsored by Daisy Doodles and the challenge theme is flowers. Please stop by here for the challenge & prize detail. Here's my card following Card Pattern 76 sketch.

Hope you can join both challenges! Don't forget to check out all the DT blogs for more inspirations. I am looking forward to seeing your creations. Have a great Thursday!

Paper Play & DDSB Challenge

Thursday!! Yay... I am so ready for the weekend already. How about you peeps? This week has been such whirlwind. Between the stress from work, me PMS-ing, it just simply been quite a week. Definitely counting the hours to Friday 5pm. I'll probably hang out with my girl friend this weekend and I'm looking forward to that!

Anyway, I have two new challenges for you today. The first one is from Paper Play Challenges. By the way, last week we did anything goes challenge, we had 444 entries. I think by day 3 of the challenge we had almost 300?? That's scary and awesome at the same time. LOL, scary in the meaning of the amount of blog we had to cheack out. Awesome because it's nic eto see you gals loves our challenges. :)

Now, this week our challenge is to create a project using 2 patterned paper, 3 flowers, 1 ribbon, and a charm. We're sponsored by Stitchy Bear Stamps who provided us with some digi stamp to play with. I chose their fairy image.

I didn't have a small charm  to use, so I used my Making Memories charm. It's a bit big, so instead of dangling it, I put it off to the side of the flower. See that white heart peeking out? The charm was silver, but I dabbed it with white inkpad & embossed it with clear embossing powder to seal the color in. I also added stitches all around the border.

My other challenge is Digi Doodle Shop's Best (DDSB) challenge. Easy peasy challenge. Create a card using your favorite stamp. Since I'm representing DDSB, of course I picked my favorite stamp from their line, which is this cute owl. He's just so cute! I used Mojo Monday sketch 150 for this card.

I rubbed some chalks on the circle area to create a soft shading. The patterned papers are from Kaiser Krafts and the sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. And of course, I had to use the wiggly eyes for the owl to make him look even cuter.

I hope you will join me for Paper Play & DDSB challenges. Have a super duper great Thursday! And, if you live in super hot area like me, try to stay cool!

Paper Play & DDSB Challenge

Hi peeps!! Eeekk..., one more day till CHA Super Show! I got my stuff packed (not that there's many to pack since I am only going to be gone for 2 days), my list ready, and list of phone numbers on hand. I am guessing I probably will have a hard time sleeping tonight as I am so  giddy. Although I really need the sleep, considering the next 2 days going to be a long day with lots of walking. I hope it's going to  be as good as I expected.

On to today's card. Today is the rare occasion where my card fit my two DT assignments. Love when this happens. Hah... I made this card for the challenges on both, Paper Play Challenge & Digi Doodle Shop's Best (DDSB) challenge. This week Paper Play Challenges theme is "EVERYTHING GOES" and Digi Doodle Shop's Best challenge theme is "PUNCH IT OUT" (which create a project using punch or die-cut).

Now , you know I love die-cuts. Would never have thought I'd say that. If you asked me this question 10 years ago, I would said that's one of my least favorite item to use in scrapbook. But, with all the current stylish design, convenience, and quality of the tools, now I love using die-cut.

The dies that I used for this card is the new Spiral Note Die from Papertrey Ink and the clouds cut with Silhouette. The hot air balloon is from Digi Doodle Shop's Summer set. I printed it twice, once on the patterned paper and second one on white cardstock. Cut the balloon part from the patterned paper and the basket part from the white cardstock (I colored the basket with Copic markers). The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink also.

I have to say that my collection of Papertrey Ink grows the fastest. I found them back in Febuary 2010 and by now I already have 15 sets, some inkpads, several dies, cardstock, etc.?! My digi stamps growing pretty fast, too. At least they don't take extra storage space. Nice thing about digi stuff! :) Who's your current favorite company? Let's enabling each other here. :)

You all have a great Thursday and hopefully Sunday, if I am not whooped, I can post about my CHA trip! Hugs, Vera.

Paper Play Challenges & DDSB

Hmm... I am seriously tempted to stalk my mail lady. LOL. Kelly from Paper Crafts said that our goodies already been mailed out and I am impatiently waiting for it to arrive. Hoping I'll get it by this weekend, so I can start playing! Or to just look at them. LOL. I just love staring at pretty papers.

Actually, I'll be doing a lot of staring at pretty paper this Saturday as I'll be attending the CKC Expo in Houston and will be volunteering at one of the booth. I know I'll be over the moon looking at yummy goodies this weekend.

Oh yeah... back to reality. :) Here's my card for Paper Play Challenges this week. We have sketch challenge & this week we're sponsored by Meljen's design. Meljen has bunch of cute stuff. Me likey cute stuff. Since  this is such a cute style, I am entering this for Card Style Fun and Cute Challenge in the Moxie Fab World as well.

Next  card is for Digi Doodle Shop's Best scrap challenge. Create any project using your scraps. I have boxes of scraps. I tend to save too much scraps. When I used to teach scrapbook classes, my students would actually offered me their scraps. LOL. Why waste it if you can still use it, right? Save the environment by not wasting papers. :) I try to purge my scraps and I still have a bunch. Well, this is what I made using my scraps based on sketch from TESC120.

Isn's this giraffe just so adorable? I colored it with Copic markers. The pic didn't show it well,  but the scarf on the giraffe's neck is very pretty as I added glitters to it. Very chic, I would say. :) I just love the way it looks. You get 2 giraffes in this one set, one with scraf and one without.

I hope you can join both challenges. They are both fun and you can win some goodies. Looking forward to seeing your creations! Hugs, Vera.

Paper Play Challenges & DDSB Challenge

Yay... Thursday! I am soo ready for Friday. Hubby is down with the cold. So, nice relaxing weekend is definitely needed.

Okay, on to  today's cards. This post is for Paper Play Challenges and Digi Doodle Shop's Best Challenge.

Up first is my card for Paper Play Challenges. This week theme is "Your Number's Up". Create a card or any project that use number prominently. I've been looking for reason to use this number border from Silhouette. I thought it's such a cool design.

The stamps are from the new Hero Arts Let's Chill set (except for the sentiment, it's from Papertrey Ink). Love that little crab. Isn't this number border just fun?

Now, my card for Digi Doodle Shop's Best Challenge 15. This week it's all about texture. I used my Cuttlebug for the dots embossing. Once I embossed the dots, I rubbed the raised dots with Color Box Apple Candy ink pad. Just enough to give a hint of teal colors. Cut the waves using Silhoutte. This cute whale is part of the "Sea Life Set" from Digi Doodle Shop. I printed it on Bo Bunny papers. Kind of getting into paper piecing a lot lately. :)

And peeps, I am super excited that.... I am  going to CHA Super Show!! Yay... Super duper excited. Hoping to meet up with some HA gals, some peeps from Gallery Idol, and hopefully some blog followers who's also going. I am going with my MIL & we're going to have some girls time. This is my first time and I am so happy at the thought of finally meeting face to face with some of the peeps. Gonna be hectic as I'll go Friday and coming back Saturday evening. But, I am looking  forward to it and if you're going, let me know so we can all meet up!

Hope you'll join me on both challenges. Looking forward to seeing your creations!! Hugs, Vera.

DDSB Challenge 11

Yay... Thursday. How are you all doing? We have new challenge for you from Digi Doodle Shop's Best. This week theme is "Tie It up". Use string, twine, floss, rafia or anything that you can tie on your project other than ribbon.

This challenge made me dug in my old stash. Remember when, rafia was the trend in scrapbooking? Yes people, the rafia I used on my card is from my 2004 stash. Can you believe it? Sigh... make me feel old. That was 6 years ago.

For this card, I decided not to tie the rafia at all. Instead, I cut several 1" long piece of the white rafia. Unravel it a bit and then glued it to the back of the bird frame. I thought the ruffle it create looks pretty. I just love this blue jay. Not that often I created a card with kraft cardstock, so this look is quite different for me. Stamped the Stampabilities graph stamp with Versamark on the cardstock to create a soft patterned background.

Tomorrow's the big day. Whether I make it to the Top 15 or not, I just want to thank you all who supported me and encourage me along the way. Either way it's been a really fun experience. Nerve wrecking, yes, but also so much fun!

Well peeps, that's it for today. Please stop by Digi Doodle Shop's Best challenge blog, check out all the detail for the challenge and hope you will join us! Hugs, Vera.

Hero Arts & DDSB Challenge 10

Goodness, yesterday I found out that I won Hero Arts (HA) $100 Shopping Spree. The funny thing was, in the morning I read their blog, but it didn't click with me at all. This is the first time I won that big of an amount. It truly is a complete surprise.

When one of the girl, Pia said congratulations on one of my card that she left comment for, I almost wrote back, does she know something that I don't or does she get me mix up with the other Vera on the HA flickr group. I head back to HA blog and still didn't see it, then I read it again! LOL. After that I was busy jumping up & down. On top of that, HA finally noticed my card! They tweeted about my card!

I am  so, so very thankful for all my blessings that I have received. This blessing come just in time of HA new releases. Perfect timing!! I am a firm believer of sharing my blessing. Keep checking back, later on this month I'll be doing a giveaway. :)

Let's move on to today's card. Digi Doodle Shop's Best has new challenge. All you need to do is to use button on your creation. Easy peasy. Head to DDSB challenge blog for detail.

For my card, I used the Lotus Blossom using FTL91 sketch from Clean and Simple Stamping.  I just love how the flower looks. I printed the image twice (flip one). DDSB Challenge 8

Hello there! Seems like this month just flying by. Well,  today Digi Doodle Shop's Best (DDSB) has new challenge for you all. And it's fun!! This week it's all about glitters and bling. I think I used glitters on most of my cards. Heh... how could you not love glitters? It make things sparkly and all pretty.

For my card I used this lovely gladiolus flower stamp. After I am done coloring  them, I covered the leaves with clear glue and covered it with glitters. I need to learn to take better pic, as in real life this card is sparkling. I did the same  to the bottom borders. Just covered the whole strip with glitters.

Come on, get your stickles and glitters out, and join us for this fun challenge. You can go to DDSB blog for all the challenge detail. Hope to see your sparkly creations!

Ooh, quick comment for fellow Grey's Anatomy fans, did you see the preview for this season finale? Bullet involved. Wonder who's going down?? At 7pm tonight you can find me glued to the TV watching Flash Forward & Grey's. :) Hugs, Vera.

Digi Doodle Shop's Best Challenge 7

Hi there, today is time for Digi Doodle Shop's Best challenge 7. This week the challenge is easy and fun. All you need to do is create any project using ribbon. You can find all the detail on the challenge on DDSB challenge blog. The prize for this week is 3 stamps of your choice from *Wink*Wink Wink.

I love this cute mice image the moment I saw it. Somehow any cute mice image reminds me of my younger brother, Jerry. Maybe, because when we were growing up we were a fan of Tom & Jerry and just like Jerry the mouse, my younger brother is funny, a jokester, and always on the go. Made this card with him in mind, using sketch idea from CPS166.

I am loving this ribbon folding technique at the moment. It's easy to make and I think it made a fun embellishments. Here's cose-up of the mice. I layered 3 of  the mice. Did you see the one that sleeping inside? Isn't he just too cute??

I hope you'll come and join us on this challenge. Please take the time to check out the other DT blog as well (link on the left side bar). Have a great Thursday!!

DDSB Challenge 6

Happy Thursday, everyone! It's time for another Digi Doodle Shop's Best Challenge. Last week you wow us with  your entries. Total of about 102 entries for challenge #5. That's so awesome and thank you all for playing. To keep things interesting, this week we have sketch challenge for you. Here's the sketch:

And here's my interpretation of the sketch (I did it horizontally instead of vertical). The picture didn't quite show it, but the flowers actually have a couple layers to it and both butterflies are covered with glitters. When I do butterfly, I always add a bit or sometimes a lotof sparkles.

For all the detail of the challenge and the fun prizes please check the Digi Doodle Shop's Best Challenge blog. Remember, you don't have to use Digi Doodle Shop image to enter the challenge. But, if you do, your entry will count twice. Looking forward to seeing your creations!!

Digi Doodle Shop's Best Challenge # 5

Hi there, sorry I was missing for a couple days. Just needed  a short break from the card making. Works has been crazy busy, that when I come home I am just pooped. And on top of that I wasn't feeling too well. :( I've been having dizziness spell quite a bit. Please bear with me if I don't post as often this week or next week. All depends on how I'm feeling.

Anyhoo, I did completed this week Digi Doodle Shop's Best Challenge a couple days ago. This week the challenge is everything goes. Couldn't be any easier. And also, now they start offering free digital stamp for you to play with. Way to go to expand your digital stamp collection! Also, the prize for this week challenge is S15.00 gift certificate from Whimsy Stamps. How awesome is that?

I have to use the puffer fish again. I just loved the look of it. It's way too cute and yes, I keep it simple, so the puffer fish really stand out. Basically, I reuse the sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch. There's just something about simplicity that I adore. I feel like it makes me feel lighter, the way I feel when I just cleaned my room. :)I just love clean, simple design.

So, what ya' waiting for? Come check out the DDSB challenge blog for all the details and hope you'll play. Looking forward to check out what you create. Have a great Thursday. Hugs, Vera.

Digi Doodle Shop Challenge # 4

Happy Thursday, peeps! I am excited to show you my card for Digi Doodle Shop color challenge. I thought the card came out pretty cute and fun looking.  I just loved, loved the way the puffer fish look. Truly, this fish make me smile everytime I look at it, because it just look so darn cute! There's 4 images in this one set and you can get it here.

What's  the challenge? For this week it's color challenge. Create any card, using any stamps you want (although if you use Digi Doodle stamps, you get extra point), using this color combo: robin blue, grass green, buttercup yellow, and a neutral color (could be white or kraft).

For my card, I resize the puffer fish in several different sizes, colored them with Prismacolor pencils, then cut them all one by one. Attached 3 of the fish with pop dots and the other 2 just glued directly to the paper.
