2017 Caring Hearts Results & Prize Winners

Hi everyone. Thank you for your patience. It's been a whirlwind, crazy few weeks for all of us at Caring Hearts. Most of us work full time, so it's been quite a struggle trying to balance everything out and get this done. But, we did it! This year, we have another AMAZING turn out for the card drive that truly humble me.

Here's some of the facts from this year:

- Last year, for US, Canada, Australia and UK we received close to 64,000 cards!! This year, we didn't get to do UK (cross fingers we will for 2018) and we received close to 47,000 including cards from Hongkong, Italy, Norway, The Netherlands, Poland and India. At my end alone, I received 22,889 cards. For Australia, we received about 3000 cards and Canada received about 4500 cards.

- We have 878 contributors and I, personally feel inspired by many of your cards. All I can say, THANK YOU! You all are amazing.

- We mailed the card packages to about 300 nursing homes and some elderly that are home bound and lives by themselves.

- Fun tidbits, Caroline our volunteer in Canada got interviewed by their local channel and Caring Hearts Card Drive made the news in Ottawa, Canada. Woot, woot! You can see the news HERE.

I am so proud of the way this card drive has grown. In our first year in 2010, I received 750 cards and look at where we are now. And, it's all because of YOU! Your support and generosity are what make it so successful. And, I am so very grateful for your support & kindness.

NOTES: Also, many of you are working in advance for next year card drive and I just want to  let you know that we'll have to do some changes. Due to the work required to keep doing this card drive and to keep things manageable, we request that you send no more than 100 cards (this number could change as we're still working on the logistic, but for now this would be the maximum) per person. We're hoping this would help reduce the craziness behind the scenes and help all our volunteer in managing collection, packing, & shipping. I hope you can understand why we have to make this change.

Now, what many been waiting for. The winners for Caring Hearts prizes! For all the winners, I'll be emailing all of you this weekend. As you can see the list is pretty long, so please bear with me. :)

Again, from all of us at Caring Hearts, thank you for your contribution & support. Bringing Christmas joy and sharing kindness are the heart of our card drive. And, whether you know it or not, your contribution made a difference. Like someone said to me, we don't know how many people's life we touch with our cards. No act of kindness is too little. No act of kindness ever wasted. Let being KIND be part of our daily life, not only at Christmas, but all through the year. God bless you all.

Congratulations on a job well done once again, Vera! The real prize is the joy these cards bring to those who receive them! Congrats to all the prize winners, thanks to all the generous sponsors, but most of all thank YOU, Vera, for allowing us to join you in this effort each year. God bless you!

Thank you so much for doing this card drive. My Mom and her friends a Sacred Heart Home love receiving the cards every year. I have to say it brings me such joy delivering cards to a few homes, I know they will put smiles on the faces of the residents. Thanks again!

Congrats on gathering all of these cards for a worthy cause...
I didn't get a chance to participate this year and my grand daughter were disappointed also.
I'm hoping that next will be a better year to participate.

Congrats to all the winners and the sponsors.

Congratulations to all of the volunteers who worked so hard on this. And, especially the organizers! I would love to hear any of the responses you might have gotten from the nursing homes.

Congratulations to the winners! I think everyone who contributed are winners with how many lives we've touched!

Vera, Christy, Jana, Deb, Caroline, and Rita, thank you and all the volunteers for all you've done to make this card drive work. I think it is an extremely important project that I love to contribute to.

If you are ever looking for another person to accept and distribute cards, I'm more than happy to do so. I have a friend that sings at nursing homes in our area and I could deliver cards with her or ship them wherever they need to go. (I have been sending care packages to college kids and also ship for my Etsy shop.)

Thanks again and wishing you a very Merry Christmas and Happy 2018!

Congratulations to all. Thank you for this wonderful initiative. It was my first year participating and I sent cards from India, and I’m not sure if it reached you’ll in time. Is there any way to confirm if the cards reached ? Thank you

great results...loved the Canadian news spot! I noticed in that spot that the gentleman was making a fold over card that when folded could be used to mail it instead of using an envelope. would that kind of card simplify things at all next year - or some cards made like that?

This was amazing and so much fun to do!
Gives me goosebumps.
So looking forward to doing this again next year. Now that I know it exists, I plan to make many more cards to contribute.
Thank you for organizing such a wonderful idea!
