Note: I Love You

This week, Some Odd Girl is releasing another fun and fab cut file called Night Sky. I love the whimsical feeling of the design and created a sweet card by combining it with one of the doggy from my favorite set Preppy Pups

I simply layered the back with various color cardstocks to create the night sky scenery. And, I didn't glue the tail part, so I can curl it up to give it extra dimension. Almost everyone in my family are dog lovers, so any card with puppy on it will guarantee that it will get used. ;)

Besides the cut file, Some Odd Girl is also releasing a couple Halloween digis and I get to play with Cauldron Tia.

I traced the circle with Stardust stickles, so  the circle actually has a nice glitter around it. Tried as I might, with  the lighting condition I had, I just couldn't capture the glitter nicely. The star sprinkles also covered with stickles.

What do you think? Fun digi, right? Now, don't forget to check out Some Odd Girl blog to see more inspiration! :)

Sweet & Salty

Well, yesterday I had my first experience for jury duty. Basically, I had to wait for about 3 hours at the court house waiting to hear whether I get selected or not. There were 4 hearings going on and we were waiting to find out whether any of them would end up in jury trial and if yes, thenthey randomly select 36 people for each trial for further jury selection.

My name didn't get called. And, I am off the jury duty call for the next 3 years. Ha.... I had to play prank on my boss, though. I texted him that I got picked. Normal reaction that I expected, he freak out and call my hubby (we work for the same company) to check whether I am joking or not. Yep, we are known to pull prank on each other.

I could just see the way his mind thinking that work going to just piled up and then we'll have to do crazy catching up. I called him afterwards to let him know I am just kidding. ;) Moment like this is when I count my blessings that I work with someone that makes work fun!

Anyway, today back to normal work schedule. And... I am back with the latest release from Some Odd Girl called Sweet & Salty.

Sweet-and-Salty

Here's my card using the cupcake:

3 patterned papers on 1 card!! Goodness, all those layering! ;)

The Oddies has created some fabulous & fun samples using this set. Check them all out HERE.
Also, today I am over at There She Goes Stamp blog. Check out my post & creation HERE.

Have fabulously sweet day!

Sprinkle With Love

I actually made the project for today's post a few weeks ago for a tutorial on Some Odd Girl blog. But, I haven't share it here on my blog.

This gift box was so much fun to make.

The opening on the box is actually covered with a piece of acetate, that way whatever I put in there wouldn't just fall out the box.

Besides holding present, simply by changing the height of the bottom piece, I could turn this into a cupcake holder. Fun, right?

That's it from me. Not much else to share at the moment. Just work, work, work. :)

Isn't the stars makes such gorgeous background? And combine it with gold vellum... yum...mie. And, I just have to combine it with Deer Mae as well, which is one of my favorite SOG girl image of all time.

So, what do you think of this cute file? Need more inspiration? Please check out what the other Oddies has created for this week new releases HERE. Thank you for swinging by here and may your day be a sweet one.

Holiday Pup

** For There She Goes Stamp blog hop please scroll down. **

In our family, the doggies are our kids. We have 2 pugs, Ollie, my grumpy ol' lady who is 15 going on 16 and Eli, my snuggle baby who is 1,5 year old  and 1 mutt, Abby, my hunter/toy destroyer who's also about same age as Eli.

Hubby and I always say that if we ever win millions, we would open a dog rescue center with wide open space for their playground. Yep, we love doggies. How could you not? Doggies are the only being that love their human more than they love themselves. And yes, doggy rescue is a cause that I hold dearly and close to my heart.

Speaking about doggies, I have to say I love Some Odd Girl's Kristy Dalman! She always come out with animal images that are super duper cute & adorable. Just look at this new Holiday Pup digi.

Doesn't this make you smile and feeling all warm & fuzzy? This pup is so dang cute, it makes me smile just looking at it.

Want to get it? Well, then please head on over to Some Odd Girl store and if you want  more inspiration from the other Oddies, please checkout Some Odd Girl blog. Only 4 more months to Christmas!

Chill

I am thankful that this summer has been pretty decent. It's hot, but not as crazy as last year. Yep, it's summer alright. But, we're only 4 months away from the holiday season. Yes, 4 months! Yikes... How time flies.

With that in mind, Some Odd Girl is releasing some new digi stamps to get you in the mood to start your holiday projects. One of the image is this super cute & sweet Polar Bear Cub.

Sigh... looking at him slurping that ice cream, makes me want some myself. ;)  It's been almost 100 degree Fahrenheit here almost every day this past month.

So, what do you think of this cutie cub? I don't know about you, but I love the way Kristie draw her critters. They always look so sweet & adorable. And me... love cuteness overload. Hah. Make sure you check out Some Odd Girl blog for more sample from my team mates. Hope you can find some chill time today. :)

Birthday Owl

Hi peeps. After two days of showcasing holiday sets from Some Odd Girl clear releases, today I'm sharing a super cute & fun birthday owl! Meet Owl-Days.

When it comes to critters, I do think Some Odd Girl has some of the cutest & sweet critter sets out there. When I saw this owl, I was like awww.... cuteness. And I thought that topsy turvy birthday cake would make the perfect background for it. Gotta love my Silhouette.

I am also entering this card for MarkerPop challenge #28 anything goes.

So, what do you think of the owl? Adorable, right? Hope you like it as much as I do. Thank you for swinging by here. Cheers....

Partridge & HoliDeer

Today the release party from Some Odd Girl continue with the team showcasing HoliDeer and Partridge sets.

I actually made these cards before CHA as Kristy asked me if I could help out and make some simple card with step-by-step tutorial to be distribute to store owners as idea sheet. Of course I jumped at the chance. And the results are the two card here and the two from yesterday's post.

My favorite part of this deer card, besides the deer? The silk ribbon! They are from May Arts and I love using the silk ribbon to make double loop bows.

From green, we go to salmon red. Well, that's what I call it. It's not really red, not really pink, kind of in the middle. Again, with the holiday season, I figure people think of making quick card and even though Some Odd Girl images are gorgeous when they are colored, they are just as gorgeous without much coloring. Just like the Partridge on my card where I only colored the pear. I added some sequins for interest, so the card doesn't look blah. :)

So, what do you think of the 4 mini holiday sets? (You can see the other 2 sets on my post from the day before yesterday). Check out what my team mates has created for this new releases at Some Odd Girl blog.

SOG Chris Mouse & Snow Bunny

Hi everyone and welcome to Some Odd Girl August clear release party. As we're only about 4 months away from Christmas, Some Odd Girl is releasing some cute and awesome clear stamps to help you get your holiday cards ready.

Today we're showcasing 2 super cute mini sets. First up is the cute Chris Mouse.  Just look at his adorable smile. How could you resist this sweet face?

For the fussy part of the Santa hat I used "White Liquid Applique" to create the foamy bubble look. I love using liquid applique. They're so fun to use and add just the right amount of texture to my cards.

Next up is this energetic Snow Bunny. Love the buck teeth! Ha...

With the images being so cute, I feel like the card doesn't need much embellishment. I prefer to keep the card design simple so the cute images really stands out and take the center stage.

So, what do you think of the mouse and the bunny? Do you love cutesy stuff? I sure hope you do. LOL, cute stuff makes me smile. Need more cuteness to brighten your day? Check out Some Odd Girl blog to see what the other Oddies has created. Thank you so much for swinging by here and hope your week starts off wonderfully.

SOG August Sketch Challenge

As we enter the month of August, Some Odd Girl have new sketch challenge for you all. :) You can check out the sketch, challenge & prize detail HERE.

And this is my card using the cute fairy from Fairy Magic set.

I rarely take my glitter out, just because I don't like to mess with all the glitter dust. But, I think this fairy needed the glittery wings, so the glitter came out. LOL, I have glitter all over my hand and Eli is my snuggle pup, so he always want to get pet or sit on my lap. Well, when I am playing with glitter snuggling with me comes with a risk. Poor Eli was sparkly for the rest of the evening.

You have one month to play along and I sure hope you will join us. :)

Dance Like No One Is Watching

Hi peeps, this week Some Odd Girl is releasing a couple sets of new cute files. One of the set is Rectangle Card Backgrounds and the neat thing is you get 3 different background on this set.

Since triangle is such a trend right now, I decided to play with the triangle background and here's the card:

Fun card, right?

Growing up I was very shy and shyness is something that I have to work on even to this day. So, the saying "dance like no one is watching" is a great reminder to me to keep working on overcoming my shyness. ;)

Actually looking at this card, made me think of my CHA trip this past January. A bunch of us were walking around Downtown Disney and there's this live music show going on and my friend Latisha just start dancing and jamming to the song in front of everyone with no care in the world.  I was sooo jealous wishing that I could do that! In my head I could imagine myself doing that, but in real life... nope. If I force myself to do that my face probably be red like lobster. :(

Well, I am getting better. LOL, if you have met the Vera from 10 years ago, you wouldn't have believe I am the same person. So overcoming shyness is a work in progress, and we all can appreciate progress, right? What about you, anything that you still working on about yourself?

Thinking of You Foxy

I can't believe it's already July. Seems like time just flies nowadays. With the new month, it's time for new Some Odd Girl sketch challenge.

And following the sketch, here's my foxy card:

Isn't this foxy a cutie? Many times I find playing with fancy sketch can be challenging, since I rarely do layering. But, I managed to follow the sketch and doing something challenging can be fun! ;) I hope you will play along with us. You can see more inspirations from the Oddies and prize detail HERE.

Also, today is my day at Paper Made Bakery. Here's a sneak peek of my card. You can see the full card HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by here!

Panda Me Happy & Paris In A Glance

Today I am sharing some panda love from Some Odd Girl. If there's one animal that I associated with since I was a kid, it was a panda. Growing up there was this famous panda called Lingling and since that's my name often people would said, "Oh like the panda." :)

When Kristy shared the sneak peek for this month digi release, I immediately fall in love with this super cute guy. He may be  nerdy, but he is cute nerdy. Hah....

This card in general makes me happy. Cuteness, check, the colors work together, check, CAS look, check. Yep... panda me happy is right.

Now, I promised to share some Paris picture. This is only a very small fraction of the amount of pictures that we took. I think I have deleted at least 200 pictures and still working on filtering more as hubby played with the camera setting quite a  bit during the trip and some of the pics just didn't come out good.

First day we arrive, we ventured out and thanks to a sweet & helpful lady she taught us how to understand the system. After that I was the metro guide. I might be horrible with direction when it comes to driving, but boy.... metro, I love. Just our luck, during the whole trip it was cold & drizzling a lot. We had only 2 days where it's really sunny (but still cold). But that didn't dampen our spirit as at least we can still do lots of sightseeing.

Me & my mom posing pretty with our umbrella. :)

Of course when you're in Paris, you have to go to Notre Dame. The architecture of this cathedral is amazing. That's what fascinate me about Europe, so many old building, so much history. To think that this cathedral has stand there for over 800 years. We didn't climb up the 400 stairs to go up to the top (where you supposedly ill get amazing view of the city & the famous gargoyles) as the weather was gloomy and we figure we wouldn't get very good pic (this excuse sounds better than the real excuse that we don't think we could manage climbing 400 stairs. Hah....)

Me & hubby.

I consider my green backpack as my good luck charm when it comes to travel (it has travel with me to many countries & cities), hubby consider his Chicago Bear sweatshirt as his good luck charm. He insisted on taking this sweatshirt to see if he could get anyone in Paris to say "Go Bear" because everywhere we go in the States, someone always say that to him. Sure enough... we got someone who say that and heh... they are American of course.

Anyway, while we were kind of prepare for some chilly weather, we weren't really prepare for really cold like winter weather. I mean literally, I was wearing 4 layers to keep warm. Now, my super skinny mom only brought thin cardigan and windbreaker. And, she's the type of person who's so worried of become a burden that she would never tell you how uncomfortable or miserable she is. Only when I caught her with shaking hand that I realized... darn, she's not wearing anything that's close to warm. I had to lecture her a bit for not saying anything. ;)

So, emergency purchase was made and she got a hoodie. We picked the simplest hoodie there is that available from the place where we were in and this Paris one she's sporting was it (all the other were too loud).

My spunky mom at the Louvre

I have to say my mom looks like a punk! I think many people were quite surprised when they saw her. With her skinny figure, fitted jeans, hoodie up, from the back and side she looks like teenager. LOL. I noticed many people stared, but hey... I think my mom looks like a rock star! ;)

For a 71 years old lady, my mom pretty awesome. She could keep up with us most of the time. She did spent 1 day off just chilling at the apartment after 3 days of shaking from the cold weather. But, all in all she is a trooper.

On this next picture, we were on top of the Galleries Lafayette which has awesome view of Paris. Of course with the cloudy weather it's hit and miss whether you can get good pic or not. Since we're in the city of love, I have to do the love pose. Hmm... only after seeing the picture I realized my outfit is way too preppy here. I look like school girl.

Cheesy is my middle name. ;)

And... look.... one picture where the weather was bright (this was maybe 10 minutes before rain came down) at Palace de Luxembourg. Beautiful garden that I wish we could explore more has it not rain.

Well, as I mentioned I'm still not done sorting the pictures, so I'll have more tomorrow. Besides I don't want to make super long post. Hope you enjoy the pics and thank you for letting me share my story here. See you again tomorrow.

PMB Sneak Peek & SOG New Release

Hi there lovely creative peeps. Today is my day at Paper Made Bakery and I hope you will swing by THERE to check out my card. Here's the sneak peek of my card:

Yes... doggy!! How could you resist playful doggy? :)

And, I have another card to share. This week, Some Odd Girl is releasing some new cut file and digi stamps.  For today I am sharing the star card cut file.

I find it refreshing & fun whenever I made non-rectangle card. How about you?

Okay, hopefully on Wednesday I can share some of vacation pics. I think hubby break  the record by taking about 1000 pics. And I get the job to sort & filter them as we are not keeping that many pics. Hubby can be very snap happy sometimes. ;) See ya tomorrow....

Home For The Holidays

Hi there. When I started in stamping, like many stampers I started with Hero Arts stamp. So, I am excited to play with the new Hero Arts Win...
