Official Post as Lawnscaper

Hi there lovely peeps! How are you all doing? Happy August! Today, I am officially starting my Lawnscaping DT work, thus the post title about being a "Lawnscaper!" :) After my stint as guest designer in June, Laurel invited me to join the Lawnscaping team and I am thrilled to be part of her team.

Originally, we discussed for me to start in September, but hey... we both were excited and decided to switch it to August. :) So, without further delay, the new Lawnscaping challenge is "DISTRESSING" and we are sponsored by the generous Simon Says Stamp who offered a $25 gift certificate for prize.

Here's my card for this challenge.

I distressed the edges of my card panel and the sky and grass background on the polaroid were made using Ranger distressing ink. That banner... is the top part of the fence from this Critters on the Farm set. :)

Guess, what else I discovered? I learned this at CHA and so glad that I remembered after I am back home! I started as scrapbooker and one of my first investment were ZIG markers. I do have weaknesses for markers as I love doodling. Well, during the class, I learned that ZIG markers also works very well with stamps.

I have no idea, why I never even thought of trying it myself and I kept thinking I need to buy stamping markers. But long story short, happy to say that now I have all these fun colors to play with without having to spend any extra money. I usually just use my ZIG  markers for scrapbooking because they are fade proof, but now, I can have more fun with them to color my stamps. See those fun colors on my birthday sentiment? Yep... I simply colored each letter with the ZIG marker and voila...

Now, I don't have to worry about stamping on my scrapbook. I used to worry about color fading, but not anymore. I'll definitely be stamping more on my layouts from now on.

Enough babbling. Sorry... get too excited there. Please check out the Lawnscaping gals fabulous inspiration HERE for more inspirations and you have till August 11, 2011 to play along. Have a fabulous day!
