The Ton May 2019 Release

Hi all and welcome to The Ton May's release. Effie has released 11 new stamps today along with coordinating cut files! In addition to new designs, we have some giveaways and a free gift with purchase. Read on for giveaway details and don' forget to head over to The Ton's blog for more free gift with purchase details.

For my first card, I am showcasing the beautiful Abstract Peonies and mix it up with Happy Florals.

There's just something about soft coloring flowers that often call my names. I mean, sometimes I started a card with the intention of using brighter, bolder color & still ended up up with soft coloring. Hah!!

For this card I simply stamped all the flowers on a panel of cardstock and once I am happy with it simply layer it with a soft blue cardstock and finished by stamping sentiment and adhered some sequins.

Now, for my next card, I did successfully used bright colors. Yay! ;)

I stamped the Scenes Parisian Cafe and pair with it with an oldie but goodie City Girls: Retail Therapy set. I don't want the background to overwhelm the scene, so I just keep it black and white and only colored the girl & the shopping bags/boxes.

For the sentiment I used the birthday sentiment from Macarons set, another oldie set. I love it when I get to show older stamps some love. Make me feel better when they're actually being used.

I am glad to see that the Abstract Peonies is a layering stamp set as I love layering stamp sets. Your soft colours are perfect for the card you made.
For the second card, I agree, about keeping the background simple, that was a good choice and I love how you used older stamp sets with the new ones.
Both cards are lovely. Thank you for taking the time to make and share them. Sincerely.

I love the gorgeous soft coloring you did on the peonies! I also like how you only added color to the shopping girl and left the scene black and white. Beautiful cards. :)

I don't see a lot of softer coloring, so I always appreciate that you do it so well! Your first card is another great example. And what fun to be shopping in Paris for your second card!

O my goodness, Ling! These are SO beautiful! I totally hear you on the soft design - despite how much I reach for brights, my eye always gravitates towards soft hues.
