Welcome to the Caring Hearts blog hop! I'm so glad that you can join us today. A bunch of generous card makers have come together to create for ♥ CARING HEARTS CARD DRIVE ♥. For those that's not familiar with Caring Hearts Card Drive, our mission is to collect holiday cards (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or Holiday Wishes) to be sent to the elderly that lives in nursing homes or care center. There are many prizes for those who send their cards and each card you send will count as one entry. There's no limit on how many you can enter. I hope that this hop encourages and inspires you to join the effort. There will be prizes for commenters and participants of the hop that will be randomly chosen, so make sure to hop along to everyone's blog. Since we have so many wonderful participants, you have until midnight (CST) Wednesday, 10/27/10 to leave comments and winners will be announced on Friday, 10/29/10!

WOW....I am so glad I happened upon this hop today...what a great cause..I am a nurse and have worked my share of nursing homes over the years, and I know how much a simple card can mean to them...Vera, your cards are absolutely adorable...and 50 cards?! Wow! That's one majorly long hop, but I'm going to try to make it all the way through. :) This is the first time I've heard of the Caring Hearts project, but I do plan to make some cards in time to mail them in. I used to do pet therapy visits with one of my dogs to a dementia ward nearby. It was really a cool experience. I met so many nice people and Revco (my dog) enjoyed being the center of attention. We also visited an assisted living area for elderly people who were much more independent, but could use a little help. They would tell me all about the dogs they had when they were younger and enjoyed watching Rev do tricks for them. I am really happy to find a way I can help people in similar communities via crafting. Thanks!

First time I've seen this blog hop and love your cause for Caring Hearts. Know how much this means to residents as some have no family left so don't feel the love. This is the spirit of the season ~ love it. I'm off to start the hop now.
what a great idea. i will try to get my cards done early this year and make extras. if i don't get them done by the deadline there is a retirement community here that has residents without active family members.
I made it all the way. You have no idea how much this card drive has touched my heart. So many of our senior citizens in residential setting are forgotten by the rest of the world. Working with them has long been my passion. Blessings to you and yours-and now I need to get to work on some cards!
