Color Me Happy

Guess what?? I am an over achiever today! I have 3 fun cards to share with you. Gasp! Yeah, I was patting myself on the back for this rare achievement. Hah! I had too much fun playing, that I can't help myself.

If you follow MFT Blog, you know that throughout this summer, we've been holding a summer school. For this last session, we're focusing on colors. Today, it's all about color saturation.

Color saturation means the intensity of color. When there's more white or gray added, the less saturated the color becomes and vice versa. Designs tend to work best when the saturation of the colors are on a similar scale.

Here, for my first card, I go with the soft, less saturated color. Some people said this is my signature style. Soft colors.

For my 2nd card, I go the opposite direction. I go all happy, happy, joy, joy with more saturated colors. Funny thing, I also have some people that say this is my signature style. Happy, bright, cheerful colors.

Now, on my 3rd card, that I actually made for the latest MFT Color Challenge, it's a bit of a combo.

As you can see, the Peach Bellini is softer than the other 3 colors. It still showed that colors with similar saturation work best. However, just by inserting one of softer color, it helps to bring calmness & soften the card design a bit. Really, when it comes to color, have fun! Try mix and match.

I hope you're enjoying today's lesson. You can see what the team has created for this color challenge at MFT Challenge Blog. And,  you can see more inspiration for today's color lesson at MFT Blog.
