A Mini Thank You Card

There's something about mini cards that I just love. They're fun to make and I love the small space. Also, my SIL in Jakarta who owns a bakery shop, loves to include mini card with her customer's order. She always ask for more mini cards and I am happy to oblige. It's nice to know that my card is going somewhere and not just sitting on the shelf. :)

Here's a mini card I made using some Purple Onion goodies.

I used OscarCharlotte and Blooms (it's peeking from behind Joey). In making this card, I also reminded how fun it was to play with embossing paste. I am the type, that if I don't see it in front of me, I tend to forget. So, in order for me to remember to use the embossing paste, I have it out on my desk for now. Hoping to have creative time this weekend with a friend.

You have 3 more days left to take advantage of Purple Onion Designs anniversary sale. Everything in the store 25% off till August 31, 2014.

Have a good Thursday everyone!

Verve Birthday Bloom

Look ma... there's flying pig above us! LOL, yes, I am convince it's pig flying kind of day!! Why? Because I have two posts in 1 day. Yep, it's happening and I am shock. Hah... I can't remember the last time I did two posts in 1 days.

Anyway, I've been wanting to play along Verve Stamps' 7th birthday celebration and finally, last night I came up with a card after seeing the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.

And, here's my card using Verve Stamps Bloom & Grow and Hope Blooms set.

I love the way this card turn out. So girly and feminine.

Well, that's it from me for today. Seriously... as I can't imagine doing 3 posts. Unless I see a purple flying pig!! Hah... Happy Friday!

Purple Onion Designs Anniversary Sale

Happy Friday! I am soooo ready for 5pm Friday to be here. Hah... Work been a bit hectic this week, so am looking forward for a bit more laid back weekend. Although I have quite a few things I want to accomplish, so not sure how relaxing it's going to be.

Thank goodness that I consider card making as relaxing. Sometime my mind just go haywire inside and playing with pretty colors helps slow my mind a bit, so it doesn't feel like a race.

Speaking about playing with colors, I have lots of fun making this card for Purple Onion Designs. I simply adore their cute critter stamps from Stacey Yacula. This card also one of my homework from Online Card Classes Stretch Your Stamp 2 and am also entering this card to Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes challenge.

The one I used here is Willa combined with Blooms. I also stamped and trim an extra bloom so I can put it in Willa's little paw. Also added fine glitter to highlight the bloom and used distress ink sprayed with water to create the grassy hill area.

Now, it's enabling time. You see that coming, right? If you love cutesy stamp, then you want to check out Purple Onion Designs as they're having their anniversary sale. Everything in the store is 25% off till August 31st! Great time to stock up. ;)

Thanks so much for swinging by here. Hope your Friday be a good one.

Thank You Tag

Hi everyone. Happy Thursday. I have really been enjoying the Online Card Classes Stretch Your Stamp 2 and today I have a project for i {heart} papers that's also inspired from the class lesson.

Instead of a card, I decided to make tag this time using Avery Elle Simply Tags: Love Notes Pocket Dies to create the shape on the top of the tag.

This tag is super fast to complete thanks to the pretty flower cluster from Paper Smooches Blossoming Buds and some distress ink. I've been using this flower cluster quite a bit lately. The pretty sentiment is from Wplus9 Hand Lettered Thanks set.

BTW, if you haven't stop by i {heart} papers lately, you might want to check them out. They're back in full swing and have tons of new goodies coming in, including Winnie & Walter products.

Well, that's all for me today. Have a ton of to do list at work and at home. Hah... I am in cleaning & organizing mode. I am itchy to purge my craft room & closet. Guess what I'll be doing this weekend. Enjoy your day, peeps.

ME Watercolor + Birthday Challenge

Happy Monday! How was your weekend peeps? Saturday, I am so excited that I get to spend my day being crafty with Lisa Alonzo from Paper Moonpie. We live about half hour away from each other, yet most of the time we only  manage to get together once a year. Crazy, right? LOL, we keep saying we need to do it more often, but what can I say... life happens. :)

We had lots of fun catching up and being crafty. I actually finished a couple cards and half finished a couple more. Sunday, I was in chillin' mode. Hubby and I went to see The Expendables 3. Hah... What can I say I love the oldies! Every time I see Sylvester Stallone movie it makes me think of my dad. He loved action movies and many of the actors in The Expendables series were his favorites.

So, yeah, I see all 3 of The Expendables movies and I actually enjoyed them. Easy & fun entertainment. I finished each movie with a thought that my dad would have loved this. The rest of the day... good grief... I was a lazy bum! I had "Leverage" marathon and snuggling with the doggies all afternoon!

Last week, I was busy creating though. So, I do have a card to share. I made this one for Mama Elephant Watercolor + Birthday challenge.

I made the background based on the faux watercolor stamping lesson from Online Card Classes Stretch Your Stamp 2. Pretty fun background, right?

Well, that's it for me for this Monday. Hope your week starts off wonderfully.

Hummingbird Beauty

This week, I really have lots of fun playing along & applying the technique I learned from Online Card Classes Stretch Your Stamp 2.

I made several cards that I just love. On top of the inspirations I gained from the class, I also have some goodies arriving from i {heart} papers, so my mojo is happy.

Today, I have a card that I made for day 6 homework, which is to use outline stamp. Tadaaa......

I love using bird image on my stamp. When I saw Wplus9 coming out with a gorgeous hummingbird stamp, I know I want to have this set! This gorgeous hummingbird is from Wplus9 Flora & Fauna 2 and the sentiment from Hand Lettered Thanks set.

I am entering this card to Simon Says Stamp Summer Fun Challenge because after all the hummingbirds always flying around in the summer.

Yesterday, I have another card using similar technique that I posted on i {heart} papers blog. Here's the card in case you missed it:

Well,  that's all for me for today. Thank you for stopping by here and happy Thursday!

Thanks For Everything

I'm so glad that I decided to take the Online Card Classes Stretch Your Stamp 2 class. I was in creative slump and this class is just what I needed to get my creativity going again. I have created several cards ever since I took this class.

Here's one of the card I made from one of the homework assignment following Jennifer McGuire's metallic on black lesson.

I used my favorite Hero Arts background stamp for this card. The sentiment die is from Simon Says Stamp.

This card is definitely one of those quick card. And, I am glad that in the making of this card I get to use my pearl-ex that just been sitting on the shelf collecting dust. Yay...

I'll be back with more cards inspired from this class. See you tomorrow.

Birthday Hogs 'N Kisses

There's just something about cute animal stamps that drawn me to them. As much as I've been into floral cards lately, I do still love making cute cards.

When I saw this cute Birthday Farm Animal from Simon Says Stamp, I thought I should get this one. The critters are too cute to pass. And, to my surprise, my order actually came within days. When I placed my order, I placed it with the expectation that they won't be shipped till a week later as usual. Low & behold, I got the shipping notification the next day!

I do wish we could use the free shipping coupon with our gift certificate. That's the only downfall. I have to choose one or the other. Anyway, I am just glad that there's some improvement.

Shopping story aside, I played with the farm animal set and made this mini card for Simon Says Stamp Make It Sparkle Challenge.

I added glitz glitter to the balloon & the party hat. Pretty quick & easy card.

On a side note, this past weekend, hubby and I went to see Cirque du Soleil Michael Jackson Immortal Tour. We're both fans of Cirque du Soleil, so we always try to go when one come to town. The show was very entertaining as always. The show was very well done and at the end it was almost like as if you're at a concert as everyone just stand and clapping or dancing along. Make you realize what an amazing artist MJ was.

It was a wonderful tribute to MJ. I got teary eyed a bit when I saw the clip from the song I'll Be There and it showed the young MJ. Love that song. LOL, I told hubby, every time I thought oh, I think this one is my favorite song of his, then came another song and I was like, nope this one.

I am hoping Cirque du Soleil The Beatles would come to town. I think that would be a blast to see as well. That'sit from me peeps. Hope your week day starts off wonderfully!

Rainbow Bridge

Does anyone notice my love of pugs? No?? Yeah... it's not that obvious. Hah!! By the way, yesterday, August 8th was National Pug day.

Seriously, I think I must have pugs in my previous life. Because as far as I can remember I always know that when it's time for me to get my own puppy, I'd get a pug. And people would ask, why, did I have one growing up? Nope, never own a pug. The first pug I saw was on my uncle's t-shirt and  just  know that's the kind of doggies that would own me.

To some people, pug is ugly. Can't tell that to me though. For me, pug is super duper cute. With their big eyes and curly tail, they melt my heart. Needless to say, I think people that own & love pugs are special people.

Recently, someone I know lost their pug and this person been so kind to me when I lost Ollie last year. She reached out to me when I was feeling so  lost. And, when she lost her pug, I just had to reach out as well. I made this card just for her. The rainbow hearts symbolize the rainbow bridge that all our puppies go through as they went to heaven and of course the heart symbolize their special place in our heart.

Oh yes, this li'l angel does have wings. Hope you can see the sparkly angel wings behind the pug. After all, I always believe all the dogs we ever love on this earth are our own angels that are wathing over us till it's time for all of us to be together again.

I made this card using the Pug set from There She Goes stamp. This set will always be special for me as they designed this based on my request and it came out around the time I lost Ollie, my very first puggy. So, yes, very special set indeed. I'll keep this set forever!

I hope the person who get this love it and hope it brings her comfort. That's it from me. Today is going to be busy day. I'll be spending some  time visiting my cousin and playing with my adorable nephews and in the evening, date night with hubby to see Cirque du Soleil Michael Jackson Immortal Tour!! Soooo exited! Hope your weekend be a fabulous one.

Hello

Hi there. I have this Pink Paislee Pen Pals paper pad in my stash for awhile now. I fell in love with it from the moment I saw the sneak peek, but as usual, I had a hard time to make that first cut.

Finally, after 3 months of having this paper pad just sitting there on the shelf, I went ahead and use a couple of the patterned paper from this pad. Yay... me. :)

I combined them with Avery Elle Laurels and Oh Yeah set. As usual, when I work with patterned paper, I  tend to question myself whether it looks right. Hah... The CAS girl in me want to tone it down, but the other part of me is saying be brave, step out of your comfort zone. It just a card. Nothing gain if you don't try, right?

By the way, some enabling for you. i {heart} papers is now back on full swing. With the move done, the store is back on business and plenty of new goodies rolling in. So, check out the store if you need some stamping goodies. I plan to place my order as soon as the Wplus9 goodies come in this weekend.

That's it for me today folks. I'll see ya in the next post. Ciao....

Fun Get Together

You know what I love about this card making hobby? Plenty. From the many fabulous stamp sets to the pretty papers to the satisfaction of creating something. But, what I absolutely love is the friends I met through it.

Seriously, I'd have missed on so many good friends if I haven't been involve in card making. One of those friend is Tiffany Johnson, who I absolutely adore. She's down to earth, laid back, open, thoughtful, simply put my kind of gal. And, the kind of friend who'd rive 6 hours just to hangout with me! I love this girl.

We spent Thursday evening just catching up and Friday morning we started our day with a trip to JoAnn. Latisha Yoast supposed to come and join us, but couldn't make it, so, for fun we decided to surprise her with a flat Latisha and she accompany us on our CKC adventure. :)

Flat Tisha joining us for a ride to JoAnn.

I got such a kick when I saw that when I try to tag Tiffany on my FB pic, the suggestion that came up were my mom's name, my name and my brother's name. Apparently FB think we look alike and so does her kids! A couple time they mistaken my pic as hers. That's how we end up calling each other twinsie. :)
After shopping at JoAnn we went for brunch and then off to CKC Houston where we did some shopping and met up with the girls from Reverse Confetti! They're so fun to hang out with. I am so thrilled to finally meet them. They're all so sweet & nice.

Stacey Schafer, Jennifer del Muro, Tiffany, me & Amy Kolling.

After the convention, we all went out for dinner and hanged out. I love that they all dog lovers like me. Hah... We exchanged dog story and just chat, chat, chat. It truly was a fabulous day. LOL, Tiffany and I were pretty much crashed by the time we got back home.

We already planning for our next get together! :)

What?? You're looking for card? Yes, I have that, too. :) I didn't forget. Today marks the new challenge from Riley & Company. This time the challenge is to create outdoor/summer sport card. Well, when I made my card, I didn't get the sport part, I just thought we have to make summery card. But, then again, juggling is kind of a sport, right?

I love how happy and cheerful this card looks. Don't you agree that this card has such a happy look? I think this would make a perfect birthday card for any kids. Will you join us for the challenge? You can enter the challenge HERE.

Well, that's it for me for now. Thank you for swinging by here.
