Hey There Good Lookin'

Happy March 1st peeps! Did you say rabbit, rabbit, rabbit this morning? LOL, I actually don't know about that, till I met hubby. If we talk to his dad on the 1st of the month, he'd ask did you say it? For those not familiar what this is all about, they said that when the 1st of the month come, your first words of the day should be rabbit, rabbit, rabbit.... for good luck. :)

Now, on to card. This past weekend, Jehanne from Just Some Lines sent me some images to work with. I am freelancing as her personal card designer. And when I saw this cute hippo, I know I want to play with it.

And, I am so happy with the way it turned out. Just look at her flirty eyes. One of my guy friend likes to say hey there good lookin', and that's where the idea for sentiment came from. The good lookin' part placed on the inside of the card.

Challenges:
Paper Playtime - Anything goes with a Digi
Stamps R Us - For the Girls
Shannon's Sentiments - Fussy Cutting
Woodware USA - Anything goes

I partially cut part of the image, so I can roll them and create dimension. The small flower stem was cut  & I added pop dot underneath it.  Same as the blig leaves and flower on the right side of the hippo. I used 2 different thickness of pop dots here to create even more dimension. In real life, you could actually see the bend and dimension much better.

The way the color popped... makes me happy. Reminds me when I was in Seattle last year and the way the vibrant colors of the flowers mesmerize me. I draw the grass using Copic markers.

What do you think? I hope this card makes you smile. Thank you for stopping by and for all your generous wonderful comments. I really appreciate your thoughtfulness. Cheers....

This week has started in such a great way. First, I am so thrilled to see my name here as one of the 10 lucky winner for Paper Crafts WCMD Gallery Stroll Winners Round 2. Me likey happy goodies. :)

Then, after work I went & picked up some more cards for Caring Hearts Card Drive. Here's some of the cards that came in. All I can say there's so many talented ladies out there. These seniors going to be sooo happy to receive your gorgeous cards.

Ladies, we break 700!! How awesome is that? There's some more ladies who just mailed their cards out yesterday and I will keep those cards to bring to the nursing homes here in Houston in time for Christmas delivery. My sweet friend Leslie will be helping me hand delivered these cards in December and hopefully they'll allow us to take some pictures. LOL, I am pretty shy, that's why I have to drag Leslie to go with me. She's my PR gal. :)

Meanwhile, here's a list of the Caring Hearts participants. Or you can simply click the tab that says Caring Hearts on the top part of my blog. If you don't see your name please let me know ASAP byThursday noon the latest. Door prize winners will be announced Friday, 11/19/10.

Please leave some love for Jehanne by checking out her store or her blog here. She has many whimsical & cute digi stamps.

Free Your Creativity

Sigh... the weather in my neck of the wood is sooo pretty today. I usually struggle to wake up early during weekdays, but I have no problem getting up early on weekend. I guess, because I know I can go napping when I want to. Besides, the earlier I wake  up, the more time I'll have to play. :)

As usual, Saturday means new challenge from Wee Memories. This week we are sponsored by the generous Simon Says Stamp with the challenge theme it's "Free Your Creativity", which basically create whatever you want. How easy is that?

For my card I used this adorable penguin from Just Some Lines. Go check out all the awesome creation by the Wee Memories DT here.

Since I am a bit slacking on my 50 cards goal for Caring Hearts Card Drive, I decided to make another card. So far, I made 32, still 18 more to go and only 2 more weeks left for collecting. Have you send in your cards, yet? Better hurry!! :)

That's it for today. I still have to run errand, hmmm.. like getting last minute birthday present for my niece, Maddy who is celebrating her birthday today. She's turning 13! She's tickled pink that she's taller than me now. But, come on, her dad is 6'7, of course she's going to be taller than me. Yeah, she likes to rub it on that she's taller. Love her to pieces though.  Okie dokie... gotta go. Enjoy your weekend!

Patchwok Boo

Hi there. Am popping up to share this cutie patootie ghost courtesy of Spellbinder's Felt Patchwork Boo Etched Dies by Nichol Spohr . I...
