Graceful Blooms

Hi peeps. Happy Monday. Today I am sharing this beautiful set from Spellbinders called Graceful Blooms. I love the delicate design of this set. Here, I am keeping it simple and just let the flower shine.

When designing this card, I now I want to keep the flower black and white. So, I look for bright colors for background. I found one of the patterned paper that I have laying around, trim it nd layered it with gray cardstock. It's a very thin frame, but I feel it gives that framed look that I wanted. Then, I simply adhered the flowers with foam adhesive. For the sentiment I used my favorite sentiment set Sending You - Clear Stamp of the Month.

It's a clean and simple card, but I feel the bright colors helped make this black and white flower pop. That's all from me today & I hope this week starts off wonderfully for you all.

Spellbinders Stitched Alphabets

 When it comes to crafting, I do love variety of crafts. Not just paper crafting. During Covid lockdown period, I picked back up cross stitching that I used to love to do. I always go through phases with my crafting. Paper crafting is one craft that's always constant.

However, with this month's new release from Spellbinders' Stitched Collection, I get to combine paper crafting with stitching. Below is the card I made using Spellbinder's Sitched h, u, g and s.

This card is so fun to make. And, bonus point, I can do the stitching while watching TV. Hah! I love multitasking. I start by die-cutting all the letter and then add the stitching to each letter. Put them aside. Then using Be Bold Blooms I cut out some flowers, leaves and colored them with Copic. Arrange all the letters and the floral decor to the panel. Layered the panel and then adhered it to the card base. Finished by hot foiling the word "sending" from Mini Sincere Sentiment Glimmer Hot Foil set. The word sending is part of Sending Hugs sentiment and I simply trimmed it. Finish by adding some sequins.

Here's a close up look of the stitching details. If you're worried the cardstock might get ripped, you can always double layer the letters before doing the stitching.

Spellbinder's Hollyhock

Hi everyone. Today, I have another floral card to share. This time, I am showcasing the new die set from Spellbinders' April release, Hollyhock Etched Dies from Through The Garden Gate Collection by Susan Tierney-Cockburn.

I love flowers, but am not what you call as having a green thumb. Learning though. Hah! So, meanwhile till I get the hang of it, I can always do paper gardening. :) Here, I die cut the flower & leaves pieces and assemble them. Before adhering all the pieces together, I stamped the card base with flower stamp set that came in August 2021 Spellbinders Card Kit of The Month.

Then, I adhere all the flower pieces together, stamp the sentiment & finished by adhering some rhinestone. If you get any of Susan's flower dies and not sure how to put them together, just check out her YouTube channel. Once you get the hang of it, these flowers come together pretty quick and yet, the result is anything but simple.

Spellbinder's Gardenia

Spring is definitely my favorite time. The nice weather and top it off with flowers start blooming every where. Granted the allergy is not so fun, but that's something that's pretty easily managed, right? I love seeing the green grass and this year, I am happy that some of my flowers made it through Texas winter.

Speaking about spring, I am so excited that Spellbinder's April release is full with gorgeous sets that are totally perfect to celebrate spring. For today's card, I am sharing one of my favorite flower, Gardenia. This Gardenia Etched Die is part of Through The Garden Gate Collection by Susan Tierney-Cockburn.

Whenever I play with Susan's flower dies collection, I always start by creating the flowers and everything else decided after the flowers completed. Here, I used all white cardstock to create the Gardenia. For the inner piece, I simply colored them with Copics. For the leaves, I used green cardstock. I decided to pair it with Be Bold Blooms set.

Using post-it-not tape, I blocked the edges of the card base and blend in green and blue ink to create soft gradient background. Let the color tapered off. Before adhering the flower, I want to make sure I have enough room for the sentiment. I die cut the birthday sentiment using Yana's Layered Script Sentiments Etched Dies. For the word happy I used Be Bold Lowercase Alphabet and Numbers Etched Dies. Adhere the sentiments and then arrange all the flower pieces. Finish by adding sequins and enamel drop on the flower petals.

What's your favorite flowers? For smell, Gardenia and Roses are among my favorites. I have friends in mine to whom I want to give this card to. The thing with this kind of card, they're kind of hard to mail because it's 3D, so hand deliver is the way to go for me. That's all for me today. Stay tune for my next floral card. :)

The Ton Spring Release

Hi all and welcome to The Ton's mini spring release. For this release, The Ton is introducing 2 stencil sets and 1 stamp set and I just love them, cause I love flowers!!

For my 1st card, I am showcasing this beautiful Gentle Peonies stencil set.

This stencil is a 6 layered stencil, so you will get pretty detailed layers. I decided to go with cooler tone and use Arctic Sky, Parisian Blue, Italian Denim and True Navy for the flowers and Matcha ink for the leaves. For the center of the flower I used Lemon Drop. Once I am done with the stenciling, I trim the side of the panel slightly thinner than the card base. Then I cut the panel horizontally in two. Add some gold strips and sentiment, then trim the bottom panel to fit the card base. For extra sparkle I added some glitter to the center of the flowers.

Next, I am showcasing the Cosmos Mail set. Now, obvious use would be to stamp this set on your envelope to make it all fancy and pretty. But, I want to show you how you could also use it for your card.

I simply stamped the image and colored it with Copic. Adhere the panel to card base. Then, I simply covered the lined area for address with sentiment. In fact, I was able to position the sentiment in a way where the lines becomes a border for the sentiment.

Birthday Blossoms

 Hi all. Happy March! I've been wanting to create a card with a mix of Spellbinders' Garden Favorites collection. I just thought that would be a fun project to tackle. And, this past weekend, I finally got a chance to do so. I am pairing up Lilac Etched Dies and  Peach Blossom Etched Dies from the Garden Favorites Collection by Susan Tierney-Cockburn.

I started by piecing together all the parts for the Lilac and the Peach Blossoms. For the lilac I used colored cardstock and added some shade on the edge of the petals with Copic markers. For the peach blossoms I used white cardstock and colored them with Copic. While waiting for the glue to dry, I ink blended some soft greens to the card panel. Then, adhere the flowers to the card panel. For fillers, I die cut some pieces from Be Bold Blooms die set. 

Next, adhere the panel  to card base and add a gold strip. Finished by adding sentiment from Yana's Layered Script Sentiments Etched Dies. This card surprisingly comes together faster than I thought. I guess since this is the second time I am playing with this flowers, I am more used to it compare to the first time. Especially for the lilac. Well peeps, I hope you enjoy this blossoms duo.

Peach Blossom

 Hi there. Today I am sharing another project using new releases from Spellbinders. I've shared my project using Lilac & Freesia set and today am showcasing Peach Blossom Etched Dies from the Garden Favorites Collection by Susan Tierney-Cockburn.

To start, I die cut all the pieces and then colored the flowers with Copic markers. For the leaves I used colored cardstock. Like on my previous post, to shape the flowers I used a dense foam mat and laid all the petals on top of it and press a round stylus to the center of the petal. This brings all the petals up. I also curl the edge of the petal. Assemble all the flower pieces. While waiting for the glue to dry, I work on the background.

For the background I hot foil one of the frame from Essential Duo Lines Rectangle Glimmer Hot Foil Plates. Trim the panel. Add a strip of patterned paper to the card base and then add the panel. Arrange the branch, leaves and flowers on the card.

For the sentiment I used used Yana's Layered Script Sentiments Etched Dies. Finished the card by adding some rhinestones.

Freesia Birthday Card

Hi peeps. I am excited to share today's beauty. Today, I am showcasing Spellbinders' Freesia Etched Dies from the Garden Favorites Collection by Susan Tierney-Cockburn. This set is fun and the flowers easily put together.

 

To start, I die cut all the pieces and then using ink blender I added some pink to the flowers and some green to the leaves. For video on how to put together the flower you could watch Susan's video HERE. I find it so much easier watching her video then reading step by step tutorial. But, I can tell you that this one is pretty easy to put together. After I am done coloring and assembling the flowers, I out them asode and work on the card background. 

To ground the flowers, I hot foil the frame from Geo Foliage Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set from the Yana’s Blooms Collection on a panel of cardstock. Adhere the panel to card base. Then arrange the flowers and the leaves on the panel. For the sentiment I used Yana's Layered Script Sentiments Etched Dies. Finished by adding some dew drops.

I hope you enjoy today's card. Funny story, I fell of my crafting chair the day before while getting my blog post ready and I literally landed on my bottom. Needless to say I am super sore and in a bit of pain today. My boss was laughing though when he heard the story. He said, you're telling me you got injured while crafting?? LOL, when you put it that way... So, right now I am making appointment with my doctor to see whether I need to do any x-ray or not as I landed pretty hard on hardwood floor. No carpet to cushion my fall.

Lilac Thinking of You Card

Hi all. Lately besides stencil, I find myself playing more and more with flower dies. I am not good at growing plants, so paper flower is kind of my way to do it. Hah! I sure was excited when I got the chance to play with Spellbinders' Lilac Etched Dies from the Garden Favorites Collection by Susan Tierney-Cockburn. This set is gorgeous!!

Here's my take on showcasing this Lilac dies set.

 

If you love 3d flower dies, then I think you'd love this die. I die cut all the pieces from colored cardstock. If you never use Spellbinders dies, especially the flower dies, on the die itself you could see how many times you need to run the die to make the flower. Simply follow the direction. For these lilacs, after I die cut them, using a dense foam material underneath, I shaped all the flower pieces by pressing round stylus to the middle part of the each flower. This make the petals all went up. Then on the leave base adhere all the flowers one by one. The result is this fun & beautiful cluster of lilacs. For the center of each bloom, I used enamel drop. While waiting for the enamel drop to dry, I work on the background. 

To ground the flowers, I hot foil the frame from Geometric Floral Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set and the splatter from Splatter Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plate from the Yana’s Blooms Collection. Once this done, arrange the flowers and the leaves. Finish by adding hot foil sentiment from
Everyday Sentiments II set and adhere some rhinestones.
