DeNami Fall Blog Hop

Happy Sunday and welcome to Denami Fall Blog Hop! If you arrive here from Ruza Rebel's blog then you are on the right track. As always you can find a complete list of the participants on Denami Blog.

As the title shown, our theme is fall. I have to admit that I always struggle when it comes to make card for the fall season. I am not sure why. Maybe it's the color? And, it's not helping when again... mojo goes on strike. After much struggle, I came up with a simple card.

The tree was cut from Silhouette. Sentiment and the cutie turkey are from Denami.

I am keeping my post short as I know you have a lot of blog to hop to. Thank you for stopping by here and thank you for all your lovely comments. From here please hop on over to  Rae Ann Beyerl. Have a great Sunday everyone!

WMC Halloween Challenge

*** For Operation Julie's Smile please scroll down. To donate, please click on the Paypal button. ***

Happy Saturday everyone! It's  time for new Wee Memories challenge and this week our theme is "Halloween" sponsored by one of my favorite company, Paper Smooches!

Now, we hear it all the time non-traditional Christmas card. Well, I decided to go with non-traditional Halloween card. Nothing scary for me, instead it's the opposite of scary. No mummy, no ghost.

Now, the big part about Halloween is the costume, right? Well... Mr. Squirrel loves the peacock feathers. The fancy feather reminds him of the carnival in Brazil. So, when else can he dressed up and be all fancy smancy (I know "smancy" is not a word, but I like saying fancy smancy)? That's right.... Halloween party! He thinks he looks fabulous in his fancy costume.

Now, Mr. Squirrel is ready to go party and rockin' it with the birdies!! See his big eyes? Yep... he's mesmerize by his reflection on the mirror. He's pretty sure he's the only squirrel with peacock feathers on the block!!

Check out what the DT gals created for this challenge HERE. Hope you will join our fun challenge and I am looking forward to seeing your creations!

Operation Julie's Smile

Welcome to Operation Julie's Smile blog hop and I am glad you can join us. If you come here from the fabulous Kimberly Crawford then you're on a right track. You have a whole weekend to complete the hop and win prizes.

A bit about this hop. The creative blogging community is doing this hop to help one of our friends, Julie Ranae.  You may know her as the Design Team Coordinator for many wonderful companies from bakers twine, die cuts, rubber stamps and more.

What many people don’t know about Julie Ranae is that she has had some pretty major dental surgeries in her lifetime due to medication she had to take as a child.  It was in her plans to think about having all of her teeth  replaced at some point in the next 5 years, a decision that was pretty easy to plan out.  But then it happened…she chipped her front teeth on a weekend a month ago.

The dentist told her there was no way to save them & recommended that she give in and have all her teeth removed soon, but for that day, they needed to get her front teeth done so her gums could begin to heal.

He said he would 'work out payments with her to have ALL this work done... but when she called to make her appt for the first step of impressions, they told her the amount of money that was needed and that the 'payments' applied only to the two teeth that were extracted that day. Her husband Paul was with her & that too, was his understanding as well. So this is how she has found herself in this situation… Needing at least $4000 to get started and another $3000 to finish the process…a total of $7000.

Nicole Rixon, owner of Sweet Stamp Shop put together this benefit after finding out about this situation and before Julie Ranae knew it, it took flight! Because she is an event organizer by trade, she has taken on the job of organizing all of the blogs in this hop as her way of ‘working overtime’ for what she needs, the same as if she were able to work overtime at an outside job to pay for the work to be done.

It is the goal of all of these generous friends & sponsors to help make this situation more do-able for our friend so that she can share a brand new smile with all of us soon.

If there is anything you can do to help with a financial donation, there is a donation button ready for you to click.  Any amount is appreciated and ALL DONATIONS will be eligible for prizes from our sponsor pool of over $2500.”

Now, let's look at cards, shall we.  This 1st card, I  made it a while back, but I don't think I have ever share it here. Actually, I almost forgot about this card, till I was reviewing all  the pics in my camera. I can't believe that I almost forgot because I actually love this card. It's so my style!

Next, is a card I  made based on the latest MFT sketch challenge.

Since this is such a large hop, there could be a break somewhere in the chain, so please bear with us. You can always find a complete list of the participant and the prize details on Sweet Stamp Shop Blog.

From here, please hop on over to Christina Maclaren. Make sure you leave a comment here before you go so that you can have a chance at the amazing prizes up for grabs. And if you can, please make a donation so we can help bring back a new smile for Julie. To donate simply click on the Paypal button on the top right of my sidebar. Thank you for stopping by here and have a blessed day!

Halloween ADFD Style

Hi all. This is my first post for today. A Day For Daisies is releasing a few fall and Halloween theme images this week. Honestly, I am not a fan of Halloween. It wasn't a holiday that I grew up with and most importantly usually Halloween decoration scare me.

I do not like scary movies, do not like anything that look scary at all. When I walk in the store during Halloween season, I avoid the Halloween rack is possible. Like yesterday, I had to pass this aisle (because it was at the entrance of the store) and suddenly this hand and creepy voice came up. It scared the s*** out of me. That's why I try to avoid them as much as I can. Yeah... I am a chicken when it comes to scary stuff. :)

Now, cute Halloween stuff is a different story. I could handle that. Tammy draw this cute mummy boy and I decided to combine it with the spider web. I love that the boy is holding a roll of toilet paper!!

Check out what the rest of the DT created HERE. And, please come back later as I have another post for Operation Julie's Smile blog hop. There'll be prizes worth over $2500 involves. So, make sure you check it out!

SOG Sketch Challenge & Card Drive Update

Oh... how I love Thursday. And to make today even more fun, I have new Some Odd Girl challenge for you. This time it's a sketch challenge.

And, here's my card showcasing one of the cute image from the recent releases, Mistletoe Kaylee, using some fun, bright colors.

Need more inspirations? Go check out what the DT gals created for this challenge HERE.

And, update regarding Caring Hearts Card Drive. Due  to my teaming up, this year it will be called Cards That Care. The goal still the same. For those whose not familiar with it, the goal of the card drive is to collect holiday cards for the elderly who lives in nursing homes. Last year we collect about 700 cards and sure hoping this year will be more.

There's been a bit of delay because my new partner hasn't been feeling too well. But, we're getting all the details finalized and we have some very generous sponsors lined up. In case you already start working on some holiday cards, please consider to make some extra ones for our card drive. Will post all  the details soon. Promise. Thank you so  much and have a blessed day.

Spunky Bird

Yesterday, I have a couple happy mails waiting for me. One is from Some Odd Girl containing new sets for this month release. Stay tune for that...

Then, the second mail was from Paper Smooches called "My Peeps". I just placed the order for this on Saturday, so I really wasn't expecting it to arrive by Monday. But, yep, it's here already. That's what I called super speedy service.

With new, cute set on hand, I just have to play the latest Paper Smooches Sparks challenge.

The challenge is to create a card inspired by this pic.

I love the warm pink colors with the green and aqua color, although I went with a darker tone. And, this is the card I made using once of the spunky bird. To reflect the tag on the pic, I cut a tag shape and stamp my sentiment on it. Then while I was debating how I want to do my bird, I saw the clothes pin and I thought it would be fun to make the bird stands on a pair of stilt made of tree branch from "Hang Ups" set.

I don't usually use this kind of green, but I think it makes the color combo on this card more fun. Hope this card makes you smile with its silliness.  Have a great day everyone!

Lawnscaping Layers & Dimension

Good morning all! How's your weekend? I spent mine making cards (of course) and watching Rio. I love it. I thought it was a pretty good animation. Love how cute the birdies are. I think they would make great image for stamp. :)

And, I also get to meet up with Trinh again. I love it every time I get to see her again. We had a lovely time chit-chatting over brunch. Thank you, Trinh & Elisa for squeezing in time to spend some time with me.

Now, let's talk about card. First, I was delighted that my card was spotlighted last Friday at Lawn Fawn blog HERE. So, excited. And, today I have another card to show my love of Lawn Fawn. It's time for a new Lawnscaping challenge. This time it's all about layers and dimension sponsored by the generous Simon Says Stamp. Our October guest designer is the fabulous Laurie Wilson.

                                                      Photobucket

For my card, to create the dimension, I curled the trunk and add it to the card using pop-dots. Same with the owl.

Challenges:
CAS Sunday Challenge - Anything Goes
Copic Creations - Saturated Colors

The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday "Simply You" set. I just love the way this card turn out. I hope you will join us on this fun challenge and don't forget to check out the fabulous samples that the DT gals created for this challenge.

Have a fabulous week everyone!

Wee Memories & World Card Making Day

Happy Card Making Day, lovely peeps! How are you all doing? Will you be busy making cards today? I know I am. :)

First, let me start with the latest Wee Memories challenge. And, since it's  the first weekend in October it's also our blog hop. If you arrive here from  sweet Stephanie's place, then you're on the right track. And, this month we have a new guest designer joining us, the fab Piali.

This week our challenge theme is to create a project using your favorite technique or style. And we are sponsored by Unity Stamps.

                                            15302_103252609709361_103252399709382_87949_4444396_n

What a fun challenge, right? I sure hope as you get  busy making card for card making day you'll also join our challenge.

Now, my favorite technique. Hmm... let's see. I love coloring with  markers, I love fussy cutting images. Then I love cute & clean style. So, this is what I came up with and this is also my first card for WCMD.

I pretty much got this Penny Black set simply because I adore these birdies. I think they're so adorable. :) And, I know it's hard to see, but the white part of the birdies hats are covered with sparkly flocks, so it's all fuzzy.

Since, I had so much fun playing for this challenge, I decided to make another card. Hey, after all it's WCMD, I should post  more than 1 card, right?

There... 2 cutie cards from me. Hope you like them. Please continue hopping around and I hope you find many inspirations around the blog world today. Thank you for stopping by here and I wish you a super duper wonderful weekend. Hugs.
