United We Stamp!

Hi all, happy Saturday!! :) Time for a new Wee Memories challenge. This week theme is "United We Stamp" sponsored by Unity Stamp Co. We are doing this challenge in honor of Operation Write Homes and our troops.

I am sure many of you have heard about Operation Write Home. It is an organized effort to support our nation's armed forces by sending blank handmade greeting cards to write home on, as well as cards of gratitude to encourage them. This is such a simple way to show our thanks to those who help defend and protect our nations.

Your challenge is to make cards to send to OWH to send to our troops. I encourage you to send those cards in. You can find all the details and requirements on the OWH website HERE, and a list of cards needed HERE, and the guidelines HERE for your cards and everything you can see on the OWH website.

Seriously, right now this "Broken China" distress ink is my favorite. I cannot  believe it took me forever to get into distress ink. :) I guess because the first color I got was way too dark, that it kind of put me off. Now that I get color that I love, I am playing with it more.

This card is based on Tiffany's Sketchy Sunday (TG008). Go check out Wee Memories DT creations for more inspirations and I can't wait to see what you come up with. Have a great weekend!

Happy Friday

Happy Friday peeps! Short and quick post for today. I made this card for A Day For Daisies new releases. You can find this week new releases HERE and you can see other samples made by the DT gals HERE.

This is my first time coloring with copic markers on kraft cardstock. Will have to try this more often.

Actually, I was trying to finish 2 cards last night. But, I didn't manage to complete my card for Mami Doodles "Green Monochrome" challenge as I was hit by migraine again last night. I was squinting just trying to finish the card above. Please check out the DT samples for the challenge at Mami Doodles blog HERE.

Thank you all for stopping by and have a great Friday!! LOL, is it 5pm, yet?? I am soooo ready for weekend. Hugs.

Smilin' Kind of Day

This week, I received a happy mail from a very sweet, kind blogging friend. I am so excited. I've been in a bit on creative slump this week, so these new goodies definitely help me to get creative again.

I played with one of my new goodies and made this CAS card for Paper Play "Let's Get Sentimental" challenge. The sentiment is from our sponsor Create With TLC. If you check their site, you'll find tons of freebies.

I've been wanting this stamp for the longest time and have some ideas storming in my head for some creative use. Now, I just need to find more time to play. Like the saying, "So many stamps, so little time!"

Please check out the Paper Play DT fabulous creations HERE.

This morning, knock on wood, is the first day in a long time where I have a pretty good morning. No bad heartburn and nasuoesness that lingering for hours. And that... makes me giddy. I feel the old, cheerful me coming back up the surface. I got my diagnosis, did my crying and worrying, but I am ready to move on. I do have to change and remove a lot of stuff from my diet, and have routine screening every couple years, but you know what life is too short to worry about those things.

It's a good feeling, that as I type my blog, I find myself smiling and feeling giddy. I have awesome hubby who takes such good care of me, awesome family who's cheering me on, and new stamps waiting to be used... life is good! :)

Thank you all for stopping by and may you have a fabulous day that brings smile to your face.

It's The Little Things

First of all, to those that live in Christchurch, New Zealand and were affected by the eartquake, I just want to say I am thinking of you all. Including my uncles and their family, who thankfully are safe and sound.

You know, it seems like there's so many bad news lately. If it's not natural disaster, there's man made disaster, or other sad moments. This is all made me realize how precious life is and how we really should be thankful for all the little things.

Cause many time, these little things are actually the big things. I made this card with some important people in mind. My mom, my siblings & their significant others, and my hubby. They are the people who shower my life with many, many awesome little things. Through the little things a person does, you know whether they'll be there for you when a storm does pass by. And, my mom always say be grateful for the little things.

I've been in reflective mood lately. :) So, here's my card... It's the little things...

Challenge:
Less Is More - Spring

The bunny tail actually hava a little texture as I added liquid applique and heat it with embossing gun. Love the raised, puffy texture. I am loving CAS look very much lately. Oh... who am I kidding. I love CAS look everyday. :) Have a great day peeps!

Elegant & Cute

Monday... 5 more days till weekend. I do the countdown to excite myself for the week. :) How was your weekend peeps? Mine was uneventful. After my endoscopy, I was pretty much spent the rest of the day on the sofa blissfully still in and out of my sedation. LOL, hubby said the first thing that came out of my mouth when I awake was about this tube that they put on the bed under the blanket that blow warm air.

You know they always keep  the hospital temp super cold, so I was excited when I found out that I have this tube that blow warm air to keep me comfy. And I made the nurse laughing when she unhooked it and I told her she just took away the nicest part of the bed. I love making the doctor and the nurses laugh.

Hubby used to be a paramedic and he always said if you ever become a patient and you're in a condition that can make them smile or laugh, do that. Because they have to deal with lots of depressing stuff and any little smile, laugh can make a difference. So that's what I did. Besides it makes the hospital visit more fun for myself as well.

Anyway, here's a card that I made m using the latest release from Wplus9. Love these postage sets. My attempt at making elegant card.

Challenges:
Our Daily Bread Designs - stamping an image over a sentiment

Sometime hubby wonder how can I make card when I am not feeling well. It's easy. Concentrating on the card making take my mind away from whatever discomfort I might have. Of course, if it's super bad, the sofa win over card. :) Besides, when I make card like this one below, it makes me happy. This card is using a stamp from this company that I recently found Eat Cake Graphics.

This is simple, yet it's also lots of fun & cute. I think so. What do you think? This kind of card is my kind of card. Simple yet cheerful. That's it for today peep. May your week start out wonderfully. Hugs!

Source of Inspiration

Hopefully this post go up without a hitch as scheduled. I have to leave home early in the morning today and will be spending my day at the hospital as my doctor trying to figure out what causing me to be sick so often. So, crossing my fingers that they'll find it. Don't get me wrong, I do not want to be sick. It just at this point, I think nothing more annoying than not knowing why you keep getting sick. At least if you know, then something can be done about it. :) And hopefully get things back to normal. Wish me luck!
On to card, today we  have new Wee Memories challenge for you. The theme is so much fun! "Source of Inspiration" and we're sponsored by Oh My Crafts!. All you need to do is create any project inspired by any project you see in magazine or stamping catalogs.

My source of inspiration is a card on Paper Crafts March/April 2011 edition on page 72. I love Kasia's card and really love that rectangle block of blue. I love my blue. For my card I created the block of color by cutting an opening in the middle of a post it  note paper and colored it in using distress ink in Broken China. And the sentiment is from SRM sticker. I won a set from SRM and so excited that I finally get to try their stickers. And... I love them!

Challenges:
Stampin' Royalty - mark it up / use markers

Isn't this card just look so vibrant and happy? LOL, hubby was asking if I make  this card for myself since I haven't been doing too well. This cards is actually for a friend of mine, Lori, who's one of my biggest cheeleader. :) She known me since way back then when I first started in scrapbooking and card making. And, I think this card will brighten her day.

Don't forget to check  out the DT fabulous creation at Wee Memories! Thank you all for stopping by and have a super duper fabulous weekend. Cheers...

A Day For Daisies Blog Hop

Hi peeps! Welcome to our very first A Day For Daisies blog hop. If you came from SHERRYANN, then you're on the right track! To start from the beginning of the hop, please head over to A Day For Daisies blog.

Our challenge this time is "Vintage". For those of you that has followed me for awhile, you know I don't do vintage. Not that I don't love the way it looks, it just not my usual style. So, here's my attempt at being vintage using this week new release.

Challenges:
Crafts and Me - anything with wings, especially fairies & angels
Stampin' Royalty - mark it up / use markers

Do you think it's vintage enough? I am also entering this card for Moxie Fab Stamping With Markers challenge. I colored the flowers and the fairy with copic markers.

Here's a look at 4 of the 12 images being released today, including the fairy I used on my card. Check out the rest of the new images HERE.

From here, please hop on over to ARIELLE. She always has gorgeous card, so I am sure you'll be inspired. Thanks so much for stopping by. Please leave some love at each blog and you could win free images!

Hedgehogs Hugs

I fell in love with Penny Black stamps since way back when I first get into card making. I simply adore their mice and hedgehogs. Who could resist them, when they look sooo cute, right? Anyway, their latest challenge is to use vellum. Since, it's been awhile since I use velum, I thought it would be fun to play along and use these cutie patootie hedgies.

Challenges:
Stampin' Royalty - mark it up / use markers
Pink Elephant - be my valentine

I embossed the the hedgehogs and the grass on the front of the vellum, then I colored them from behind using Copic markers. To add some sparkles to this card, I also traced the border of the frame with stardust stickles.

Hedgehogs card simply makes me happy. :) Enjoy your Thursday!

Love You Always

Currently, I am owned by 2 doggies. And, like any other human that's owned by their four-legged baby, I love mine dearly. Granted, sometimes, they drive me crazy with their attitude, but most of the time they spoil me with their unconditional love.

No one can love you the way dog does. They're always so happy to see you and wag their tails like you're  the best thing that ever happen to them every single day. I mean, have you seen the movie Hatchi, about a dog who waited for his owner till the day he died? Oh my word, did I cry my eyes out watching that movie. To see such devotion and loyalty.

So, for Lawnscaping "All About Love" challenge, I thought I used the doggy stamps to reflect that devotion. In our family, it's normal for us to give card from the doggies. Like, for my mom's birthday, hubby got her a card to say happy birthday from her four-legged grandkids. I'll keep this card fo one of those occasion. :)

Challenges:
Cupcake Craft - I heart you - use hearts
Stamps R Us - Love/Valentines
Simply Create - bold & bright
Fabulous Friday - use the word LOVE

That sentiment is so true. My pug, Ollie has been with me through the up and down of life and she always there for me. She saved me. When I was at my lowest point, she's there loving me and push me to get out there. My sheltie, Nick came with hubby. The most gentle dog ever. Yep, he's pretty much mama's boy ever since I came in the picture. :)

Here's a pic of them enjoying life.

I think dogs are the most amazing creatures; they give unconditional love.  For me they are the role model for being alive.  ~Gilda Radner

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's day!! Got anything special plan for today? Hubby and I are keeping it low key. Probably out for dinner or knowing us, to avoid the crowd and being it's Monday, most likely we'll have some take out. :)

When it comes to work days, we don't go out much. We treasure our home time very  much. Anyway, to celebrate love day, I have love card for you.

First up is this sweet mouse card. And a little Valentine shout out to my mom, my brothers, and their significant others. Happy Valentine's day to you and I love you all so much! So wishing you all live close by to me instead on the other side of the world. That little mouse... me sending love your way. :)

Challenges:
Paperworks Co - Hearts
Allsorts - It's all about the sentiment
One Stop Craft - Love is in the air

This next card, I've shown it here before, but since it's Valentine's day I want to show it again. This is the one I am giving to my hubby. I actually submitted this card to Paper Crafts a couple months ago, but it didn't get picked up (I do have 3 other cards being picked up). It still one of my favorite card, though.

The clean design, the twinery grid, I love it and I know my hubby loves it. :)

I wish you all a very happy Valentine's day and may your home always be filled with love.

2nd Card

Another quick post, for Papertrey Ink Color Challenge. This time I am using Lisa's color combo, pure poppy, spring rain, kraft, and vintage cream.

It didn't show up too well here, but the kraft paper were actually has the text impression. Thanks for swinging by here. :)

PTI Challenges

A quick post for Papertrey Ink challnge as they celebrated their 4th anniversary. This card is actually for 2 of the challenges, which Make it Monday and Color Combo challenge. For this card I used Dawn's color combo, which is raspberry fizz, pure poppy, hawaiian shore, dark chocolate, and kraft.

Thanks for stopping by. And there's a second post coming up for another PTI color combo challenge. :)

Happy Wednesday

Today, I finally feel much, much better. I can walk straight. Yay... :) I went back to work yesterday. I don't like wasting my day off staying home being sick. LOL, would rather use my day off for vacation time. My job deals a lot with computer work, so at least I didn't have to walk too much. That helps a lot, although, at times I did wish I had stayed at home.

Anyway, today I am just happy that I am doing better. Now, I have a simple card to share with you inspired by Papertrey Ink Make It Monday challenge.

Short and sweet today peeps, as I don't have much to write about today. Still recovering, but definitely in much better spirit. :) Enjoy your day! Hugs...

Wee Memories Blog Hop

It's the first Saturday of  the month, which means, it's time for Wee Memories blog hop. If you arrive here from SIMONE, then you are on the right track.

This week we are sponsored by Michelles Scraps and the challenge is "Dust off those scraps". I am sure many of you has tons of scraps that are just waiting to be used. So, come on, get them out and join us. Challenge and prize details can be found HERE.

Here's my card using my paper scraps.

I am keeping it clean and simple.  Have to admit, I really love using twine. This one is from the Twinery. I think ribbon would be too wide for this leafy branch, but twine it's just the perfect size.

And, please help me give a warm welcome to Wee Memories new DT members, Giovana Smith, Stephanie Muzzulin, and Wendy Elliot! Welcome aboard ladies and I'm so thrilled to you all joining our team. Also, warm welcome to our February guest designer Sarah Moerman! Go check out their blogs for some awesome inspiration.

From here, hop on over to JENNY and check out her adorable creation. Hope you all have a great Super Bowl weekend!

Papa Gnome

Have you seen the preview of the new animation Gnome & Juliet? I was laughing so hard when I saw the little gnome with the red wrestling suit humming & skipping happily on a yard. I was like.... oh my goodness, it's so stinkin' cute, I want one! LOL, I am crazy like that.

Any of you have the trolls collection? I collected them since I was in high school. It was love at first sight. The colorful hairs, the cute face.. and yes, even back then I wish my cute trolls would come alive, so I can talk to them. Sigh... every time I saw ridiculously cute stuff, I always wish I could have a live one. LOL, how fun would that be? I do have weird imgaination sometimes. :)

That's prbably why Brandon Mull's Faber Heaven series is one of my favorite series. Because it has fairies, unicorn, gnome, etc., that in the book they actually share part of our world, hidden from our human eyes of course. I am telling you, part of me never grow up, still love all the kiddy stuff.

Anyway, let's get back to the reason I am talking about gnome. A Day For Daisies has cute gnome releases this week. And, I was so thrilled when I saw them. Here's my card using one of the gnome and a couple of the potted plants.

Challenges:
For Fun Challenges - Spring or Winter
Paper Take Weekly - anything goes, optional: flowers
Paper Playtime - Anything Goes with a Digi

And, I don't know why, but I thought Irish blessing is a perfect match for the image. I want to frame this card, just because it looks so cute. It has quite a dimension to it. Here's an up-close look.

Officially, this image is called Night Gnome. But, I like to call it Papa Gnome, you know like Papa Smurf (another favorite!!). Check out what the other DT gals created for this new releases at ADFD blog. Here's a peek at some of this week images:

They also have fun new challenge this week, which is to use some kind of metal or metallic colors on your card. Could be a lot of metal or just a little. On mine, I used mettalic color pencils to color the pots and the gravels area.

Well, I get to stay home this morning due to the weather as all the  major highways were covered in ice. No snow, but I am happy I can spend my morning snuggles and pampering my doggies. Might have to come in to  the office for half day later. Hope you all stay warm!!

Happy Rabbit Year

To my family and friends that celebrate the lunar year, Happy Chinese New Year! It's rabbit year (my year) and may this year brings you plenty of happy, joyful blessings.

I remember when we were kids, Chinese New Year brings its own excitement. We get to skip school (although now, in Indonesia it officially become a public holiday) and visited family and friends, and get to collect the red envelopes filled with money. Usually, the day before my mom would do the big praying at home and the day of the new year, in the morning we would go to the temple.

I actually miss this. There's just something comforting with getting the praying table ready, setting it up, my mom cooking up a storm of food, the smell of incense, and have all my cousins gather at our house. Our house always the central location for all gathering. I love that in our prayer we invited our ancestor to come and celebrate with us. Things that I took for granted back then, are now the things that I missed. I wish I have learn more about my Chinese heritage.

Our family is such a mix of cultures, and I do want to explore each of the culture. I think because of the mix, it's even more important for me to record and pass it down to my kids or nieces and nephews down the road.

Anyway, have fun to all that celebrate the day! :) On another note... yesterday, I found out that I made the Top 3 at CASE Study challenge. So excited! Even more excited to see my fellow Wee Memories DT gal Jinny is also listed.

Today, I have this simple card. I wish I could hug my mom and my brothers on this special day.

Hope you all stay warm!! The weather man said we should expect some snow today! Yay... Cross my fingers that we get to go home early??? Have a blessed day everyone!

Wishing You Sunshine

People it is COLD here in Houston! 20F this morning when I left the house! According to the weather channel, yesterday morning the temp drop from 70 to 50 in a matter of 20 minutes. By evening it's 22F! Okay, I know for those of you who live in Michigan or New York, or any place that's used to snow, it's probably nothing. But for a girl coming from tropical country??? Oh my goodness.

I am not complaining though, because many of you are in the middle of snow storms, blizzard, etc. I feel for you.  At least here it's not snowing. Although... part of me kind of wish it's snowing. LOL, we're Houstonians not use to snow, so any time it snow, people at work have tendency to let you go home early for safety reason.

Anyway, with the chilly weather and gray looking weather... it made me wish for blue skies & sunshiny day. Something happy and cheerful! The Esty Inspired Challenge this week is featuring Too Cute Kawaii store and I found the perfect inspiration. This:

I love the dog's face. Based on this I want to create something with cute animal. And I have this cute cat stamp that I've been wanting to use, because it has the most adorable face.

Challenges:
Stamps R Us - Animals
Totally Gorjuss - As you like it

This card made me smile cause it's cutesy overload with cheerful colors abound. I think I found my favorite color combo. And did you notice that the tail is curled up? I didn't take pic from the side, but I curled the tail up and it looks so cute!! Sigh.... I love cute stuff.

The borders were made using Border Background stamp from Schlosser Designs. I won 3 sets from them late last year and I felt so bad that I haven't get a chance to use them much.  I did make a couple cards with the sets before and I do love the quality of their stamp.

Also, don't forget you have 9 more days to enter my Thank You giveaway. Click on the giveaway link on top of the blog or on the sidebar (the Basic Grey papers pic). You all stay safe and warm!!

Re-run

I love watching re-run of my favorite TV shows. Some of my favorite shows are CSI, NCIS, Criminal Minds, Bones, Friends, etc. Last night I watched Sex & The City and Bones. Felt nice to just lounge around and watched the shows.

Since on Sunday I did a heavy card making marathon, Monday  night I didn't do any card making at all. I think it's important to take a break once in a while so you don't feel drained. Speaking about re-run, last night, I was organizing my computer files and as I was rearranging files and folders, I noticed some of the cards that I made last year. It's kind of fun to reminisce a bit. Some of them, I even forgot that I made them.

So, for today, how about some re-run from me? :) I picked 5 cards that I made last year that I truly love.

There.... a mini re-run from me. Hope you likey. :) Which one is your favorite?

Well, have a great Tuesday peeps! And a shout out to my SIL, Regina, I am thinking of you, glad everything went smoothly, and hope you recover quick!! Love you!
